Powerball is taking a serious beating in December!
Any specifics on how the fund these guranteed jackpots. They should have a butt load of change from that record jackpot.

Cashier's mistake makes N.H. family lottery winners
even if it results in a major win for you. most of the mistakes are by the customer (not anyone on here who are all lottery experts) but the ones who won't play unless they are guaranteed 100 million or more and don't even have a clue on what day the drawings are or what game has the big jackpot. those clueless players couldn't fill out a betting slip if their life depended on it. you've seen it we've all stood behind people and we roll our eyes when they ask for the wrong game or day. when we'r

Cashier's mistake makes N.H. family lottery winners
ronnie do you really think every clerk in the store (or the majority)do not care about their jobs and that is why they make the mistakes. i've stood behind people who aren't very lottery savvy and heard them ask the clerk for a ticket for tonights game. they might be wanting to play powerball and are asking for it on a day other than wed or sat. they don't have a clue. the poor clerk gives them a ticket for tonites game like they requested. customer sometimes checks and sometimes just stuffs in

If MM rolls over...
They would never do that but it's a nail biting experience not having any control over sales volume coupled with the fact that jackpots are being won so frequently. Could you imagine the outrage? The Someday Lottery Club would lead the charge of course!

Are the base jackpots really too low??
Exactly. I'm one of those players who wait for huge jackpots to play, and don't risk money unless there is one, but I don't complain about where the jackpot starts. If it didn't start out where it did - they'd compensate by lowering the other prizes, so I'm fine with it starting whereever they want.

If MM rolls over...
Do you know the opportunity cost of spending $1 to win $12M with odds of 1 in 175M? How many $12M jackpots winners have you seen in mega millions since the game started?

Are the base jackpots really too low??
I'd rather play Hoosier Lotto and have a 1 in 12 million chance of winning the jackpot than play Powerball or Mega Millions and have a 1 in 175 million chance of winning the jackpot. Sure, the jackpots for Powerball and Mega Millions get a lot higher than Hoosier Lotto, but my goal is to win something I can retire off of, not spend money like Jay Z. I personally would retire off a $3,000,000 Hoosier Lotto jackpot. I would take the annuity which would equate to $100,000 before taxes every year fo

3 times the charm?
I think it's pretty comical that it's been won so frequently after the huge amount it was and how everyone was talking about it. I mean I know it's only a matter of time until a big jackpot shows up, but it's just going from one extreme (one of largest) to the other (won every other draw). Personally this is how I like it. The more people hitting jackpots the better.

MUSL: We have identified the glitch!
I will certainly never play again if this ever takes place. Even though most of the winners are quick picks, I still like the option of being able to choose my own numbers. In some cases, those who choose their own numbers do win, they've won because of LUCK. There is not a single program or a mind so brilliant that they can determine the next numbers drawn. At best, either can only use the probability factor . JJ makes it sound as if all the jackpots are being won because people have some magic

Mega Millions - No Winner, JP Stays At $12M
Usually when lotteries have a minimum rollover and sales are less than the rollovers , they don't last long before something changes. Ohio Super Lotto once had a $2M minimum rollover amount and when neighboring state got PB and MM and out of state players stop playing their game, it was replaced with a new and improved game Lot'O Play that had smaller rollovers and smaller jackpots. That game was later replaced with Classic Lotto. I'm surprised PB hasn't made some changes to its minimum rollo
