Dead_Aim's Plays
You may be surprised, but most states do a pre-test and some do a post-test as well (or so I have heard). What helps is that unless something is found to be out of the ordinary the test remains at a constant. In other words, even though they do the pre-test every day. It will always be the same amount of test runs. So, in my opinion, it really doesn't change anything. I know that some states run a 4 drawing pre-test. The drawing you see and they use for the official drawing is the 5th they have

Neb. lottery numbers drawn twice in row
The odds of one particular drawing to the next matching is 1 in 1000. The odds of it matching one drawing to the next at some point sometime is almost certain! The odds of *the next two drawings* matching a given drawing i.e. the same Pick-3 3 times STR, is 1 in 1 million. In the slot machine analogy (sorta) maybe they were thinking the odds of 2 specific draws in a row matching a *certain* STR # chosen arbitrarily. I'd love to have access to what kind of algorithm is used to run a computeriz

Piqua lottery winners sued by co-workers
The four further claim they joined with the others in a pool for the Dec. 9 Mega Millions drawing from which some cash winnings allegedly were then used to purchase tickets for the Dec. 12 drawing. The co-workers had the winning numbers for the $207 million Dec. 12 drawing. The four said they were out of the office and unavailable to contribute to the office pool for the Dec. 12 drawing. Because they participated in the previous draw, I would have included them, to avoid any hassle in obta

Proof you should not spend a lot of money on lottery tickets
I have been playing the lottery with my own sets of numbers for over 10 years. I was buying between 20 and 200 tickets for every drawing during that time. For a drawing in May of this year, I purchased 165 tickets at a liquor store. I found out that a jackpot winning ticket for that drawing was purchased in the store where I bought my tickets. The winner HAD to be me. Right? I had been playing over 10 years using my own numbers that I thought gave me a better chance of winning. I estimated that

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
The above post concerned the 11/04 drawing but last night drawing didn't have any numbers from the previous four drawings which included 19 numbers. Every one of my picks has 1-3 of those numbers. Had I eliminated the numbers in the previous 5 drawings , I would have eliminated 23 numbers and only one of them was in last night drawing. Using the same logic I've been using this whole run I managed to cover 4of5 of the winning numbers and get a couple of wins so I may have to do more back testing

I have not posted on here in a long time, forgot all my info and had to register again, but couldn't resist this one. I sent them a message about the 000 hitting like they did and that I thought they were cheating and this is what they said... As you may know the automated drawing system is a stand-alone system with no connection whatsoever to the internet or the system that collects data from numbers played at our retail locations. The security and integrity of our games are of utmost import

I've always wonder...
mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m. eastern time by the Georgia Lottery in Atlanta. You can buy tickets until 10:45 p.m. eastern time in all Mega Millions states except California, Illinois, Texas and Washington. There are times they take the drawing on the road when the pots get high. It takes up to three hours. to get a drawing ready.... one poster who worked for the studio in Georgia where the drawing is conducted said that during the last few minu

Same Mega Ball three drawings in a row...
I have a theory, with odds of 1:176M, thousands of players will buy 10-20 tickets every drawing and never come close to winning a jackpot during their life time. Facts are I could predict every drawing that no one would win the jackpot and be right 90% of the time but that doesn't mean I could predict all the winning numbers even once in a life time even if I had a 1000 chances every drawing. Knowing that I'm likely to be one of those thousands of losers doesn't keep me from buying a few

"9th Drawing of the month" - MM & PB
fja is right. A year has 52 weeks, so MM and PB will each have 104 drawings per year. February will always have 8 PB and MM drawings, except in leap years where the extra day happens to be a drawing day. That leaves 96 drawings for the other 11 months. There will be at least 8 drawings in each month, accounting for 88 of the 96. That leave another 8 drawings, so 8 of those 11 months will have a 9th drawing. At the end of the 52nd week of the year there's still an extra day left over. 4 out of 7
