From 1995 until present, how many people actually won the Powerball?Reply
From 95 to 2002 there were another 108 jackpots won. So not counting 2003 and 2004 there have been at least 251 Jackpots hit with some involving at least 2 different winners. I would say over 300 people have won a PB JP or split one since 1995.

Does anyone think we'll ever see a very large ($500 million+) jackpot for these games ever again? I think that crazy guy who used to post here was right after all when he said PB MM were way too easy to win.

Maybe more people are playing because they see small jackpots have been won. Huge jackpots where no one is winning turns some people off. They want to play a game they have a chance of winning.

I like to play for big jackpots so I like higher jackpots with worse odds because I know at least the jackpot will climb to a decent level before someone wins. And as long as you have a ticket to that game you have a chance to win it.-weshar75

Most states already have a game with better odds with jackpots of $5-25M. Ohio has Classic Lotto(6/49) 1:13,983,816 with a $9M jackpot. PB and MM were added hoping to lure more players for its local games but players prefer the $100M+ jackpots.

There have been times in the past where both jackpots were fairly high relative to the then current records. I'm not going to look for the proof, but I think there's a very good chance that both have been in the top 25 at the same time before this. 40% of those in the top 25 have been won in 2014, 2015, or 2016. All but 7 have been won since 1/4/2011, so through 2010 there would have been 18 smaller jackpots on the list.

One thing is certain, WhoaMama, though the jackpots could continue to roll, at some point in time both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots will be won. And absolutely there is a possibility, for the Mega Millions, it could be tomorrow. I like to think it could be me, but it could also be you... or both of us! I don't mind sharing, especially when the jackpot is where it is.
