I do not understand. Everyone complains the starting jackpots are not big enough. So Mega Millions sets a starting jackpot larger than any other starting jackpot in history, and you complain they are robbing Peter . There is no pleasing some people.

I play the new mega millions game because I only buy one ticket for it and powerball with powerplay for the entire month at the beginning of the month. If I win a prize I use it for the next months tickets so they are lower for me. I rarely win but when I do I am happy because I could of lost on that particular drawing. I've done pretty well not the best in the Powerball challenges mega millions if I can figure out right I should start getting three or four numbers on the white and I'll figure out the extra ball Powerball. I'm gonna see what I can do.

That sucks. I was hoping staggering sales. And a switch back. Good news though. It looks like there taking more of a % in the cash option. I was always curious where the cash option money goes. And if mega millions takes a cut of the tickets sold. Guess I'll start doing some digging around to see if I can find out.

The Mega Millions price more than doubled. That's crazy. If you used to buy a Polo shirt at $50 and it now cost about $125, most people would have decided to not buy that shirt. I can't be MM is now $5 when it used to be only $2. Crazy hike.

Also, make sure you recognize that mega millions didn't even up the prize for 4 out 5 white balls + mega ball. They have a $10k prize (and multiplier, at most you'll get 100k) while Powerball has a 50k prize (or as much as 500k with power play)! So for a $2 ticket you have better odds and a cheaper cost for that than this $5 ticket.

I stopped playing Powerball and Mega Millions a long time ago when I realized how low the payouts were compared to the odds for the lesser prizes. For numbers games, at least the payout is 50/50 in most states.
