I just dont understand!?!?!
I tend to think like KY Floyd. Let's face it, the odds of winning one of the major lotteries are ridiculous. In all probability, money I spend on lottery tickets will be throwing my money away. I budget somewhere around $300 a year for such foolishness. And as I've told others for years, if I'm going to throw my money away anyway, I may as well throw it at a larger amount than at a smaller jackpot. I'd rather wait and put $5 or $10 toward a larger jackpot than put a dollar or two in each time. A

Powerball Jackpot
Whoop!, I misspoke as Rommey might say. Over the years I have seen the values of lottery games jackpots reach the amounts it would cost to buy every combinations but I will really be surprised if a PB jackpot ever amounts to $354,470,020 even with its 30 years annuity plan, but if I do I will buy a ticket.

Would you be in favor of international lottery$
Good point savagegoose, but hypothetically if we could work out the bugs and designate neutral countries to collect and dish out the cash payments, (Such as US, Switzerland, UK, etc.) and corruption were not an issue, do you see a demand for lotto tickets for say $1 or $2 that could command $100 billion jackpots, with 2nd 3rd tier prizes of $500-250 million?

So why has the price for Powerball tickets gone up anyway?
If the same number of tickets are sold, there should be 273 5+0 winners because the odds are still the same, but each ticket now will be worth $1 million. The ads are saying bigger jackpots with more millionaires which is true because without winning the jackpot, we couldn't win $1 million on a $1 ticket. While 546 5+0 winners seems like a lot, when you look at the odds against, it's only 0.000019% of all the tickets sold.

Powerball at $2.00 - What jackpot level do you start playing?
To anyone wondering how high of an amount the jackpot could reach this is what i sent to MUSL and the response i got: Hi, with the new game (after January 14th) what do you expect the new jackpots to be? A lot of people are throwing around crazy numbers but what do your mathematical simulations suggest? You stated that the average would go up to 255 million from 141 million but do you have estimates on how high they would go? Because on a lot of blogs people predict that they'll go as h

Would you join online lottery group?
Yes, I would join. Playing in a group is the best way to take advantage of higher payouts of games with rolling jackpots. By the way, jackpotbuddy, be prepared for several nasty responses.

Anyone else having a down time?
This is my 16th year for powerball and megabucks and second year for mega millions. I have decided to play less and I may not win a jackpot but I will be able to play for all the jackpots this year by buying $1 tickets with multipliers for mega millions and megabucks. Then $2 with powerplay for powerball all year long and save the rest of my money for a rainy day fund. Sure I am not going to have high hopes of winning but you never know with lady luck when she comes around to pass out the goodie

Powerball Changes
Hey CDanaT, I for one have stopped playing Florida Lotto just because of this price increase, that means it will be LESS money in their pockets, don't worry, they WILL NOTICE when they don't have enough revolving cash to pay out the Florida lotto Jackpots,

Anyone planning on 'loading up' on PB before the changes?
For the most part, I only really play Powerball when the jackpot gets high. It is possible that I could play heavier after the price increase - if the jackpots are good, I'll probably pick up a ticket more often than usual. Even if the ticket does cost $2.
