Massachusetts Lottery names new executive director
Shaking hands with someone who has just won a million dollars is not a bad way to make a living. Lynn native Beth Bresnahan, 38, is the second woman and youngest person to head the Massachusetts State Lottery, which has 400 employees and 7,400 agents statewide. It generated $4.85 billion in sales last fiscal year, with $956 million returned to cities and towns in unrestricted local aid. Bresnahan, who previously served as the lottery's assistant executive director and marketing and communi

$353 MILLION: Red hot Mega Millions jackpot set for Friday
Ony a small part of the story. Bad economy? Yes. But this is not the first time we've had a bad economy. Record Jackpots are no coincidence nor should they be merely attributed to a correlative relationship between the two (economy/jackpots). Its a result of greed, pure and simple. Greed from lotto officials. Greed from the States. And certainly greed from the general population. How else could you explain people who make $50K, $70K a year scoffing at jackpots that are merely $40 Million, $100 M

What would your day to day life be after winning?
I beg to differ with your assumption. We currently live in a gated community but only one of the entrances has a guard. The other entrance is access card or bar code activated so many people are able to sneak in. This is by no means a high end neighborhood as most of the homes range in value from 500k to the 1.5 million. If I was fortunate enough to win a Mega million or Powerball jackpot then an exclusive guard gate community with multi-million dollar homes would be my preference for a place

As a Lottery JP winner: Would you " help" your city out if they were on the verge of bankruptcy?
Interesting diaglogue here between you and Mike and I certainly share agreements on both fronts. I said a while back that we need a special division to specifically, and, continually track people out of work and on welfare...in live time. All this business with having people to call in to an automated recording and lie about looking for work is for the birds. The places which they document and claim to have applied for work are often times bogus with no merit what so ever. It would be money well

Why does Richard Lustig never say how much he had spent to get his wins?
Exactly! You can save yourself the $35. Amazing how he expanded on that into a complete book(let). His real skill is parlaying his 7 jackpot wins into endless TV and talk show appearances. I'll give him that. Note to TV stations and Talk shows: (if PB rolls again and gets into record territory) PLEASE don't book this guy. We don't need to see him or hear his bunk anymore. Youtube provides all the Lustig laughter and entertainment needed to last a lifetime. Book Todd instead. I think

Do you sign your tickets?
If the JP is at a record high i do, but i admit when it's not... i get lazy We read soo many articles about lost or stolen tickets and it's always a reminder that stuff does happen. For many of us our tickets will never end up lost or stolen, but it could happen and there are enough stories to prove it does. While the best protection against most of these types of situations is right there on the back of our tickets, why is such a simple, yet important thing soo over looked by players? We ta
