I do think there's something a little fishy here. I just hope the person who bought the ticket gets the money when it's all said and done. People do, however, participate in small buy-in lottery pools. I run three big pools but when the jackpots are high, me, my niece, and a couple of coworkers will put in .25 apiece to play a $1 ticket. Those 3 people pools are a pain tho because of that extra penny.

Yeah I have been saying for years that I am skeptical about the large jackpot lotteries, I would not doubt that some type of scamming is going on, otherwise why are most of the jackpots always won right before breaking records? A weird and crazy weekend! Hubby hit two jackpots, and I had a hard time winning the $500 that I brought home. I knew the 5th would not be good for me, but I had a good time! Regretfully, my football team lost this weekend and thank goodness I did not bet on them! Got a lot of work to do today, have to catch up on things that I let slide over the weekend. Not so fast their partner. Because powerball has a match 5 rule for when they reach record jackpots and that is set at $390 million for the next time it is high. They spread the wealth to other match 5 players instead of increasing the jackpot. So it will only increase 25 million after the $390 million record so that is $415 million with the rest of it going to match 5 players pool. Sorry, but I'd rather win the $20 or $12 million dollar jackpots than something this large. Too much money brings too many crazies out and too many problems. If I won the smaller jackpot, it would allow me to live nicely, but my husband would still have to work. He would get bored in a millisecond, being at home. We could have a nice home, nice cars and nice vacations, but wouldn't have the money to go crazy. So, no thanks, but congrats to the winner.
