I believe that the best reference point is the expectancy rather than the median. We are definitely starting simple and keeping it to the pick 3 games. The data set representing a lottery draw is known as a discrete uniform distribution. Discrete because the choices for each position are a closed set of 0 through 9 and uniform because every number has the same chance of being drawn at any time.
