Creating Private Pools for different Games on LP.
What is the point of forming a pool, if everyone is still going to play their own numbers ?? Are you borrowing numbers from other people to play, as your own ??? We can do this already, using the the Forums and the Prediction Board.
In any case, Lottery Post is not a gambling site. It is a site for the exchange of information relative to the game of lottery, which we can do well enough, without forming pools on Lottery Post.
I would be surprised if Todd agreed to do this.

Mega Millions and Powerball both at/over $1 Billion. Your thoughts?
I think it depends where you are. In CA, sales are pretty easily tracked because they reset the 2nd place (5+0) prize to $100K when its won, which it was won steadily during the large JP for PB.
Sales roughly doubled each draw until it was hit. The pari-mutuel pool for 5+0 winners went from $475K, $1.4M, $4.7M to $7.6M in the 4 draws up to being won. Number of people that split it steadily increased as well.
The JP sort of reflects that, too. Though, sales nationally seemed to be about th

Are we throwing away our money by trying to beat an RNG?
Good analysis
Anybody who realized that repeated numbers had been disallowed could bet on the numbers in the smaller set of possible results.
True but in that case the error wasn't sufficient to overcome the house odds (pool of possible 3 digit numbers reduced from 1000 to 720). And people who picked random numbers, not aware of the flaw, would, over the long run, lose the same amount of money.

Now that the dust has settled on the Powerball jackpot. .
Are there any things you would have done differently?
Perhaps lowering your wager, joined a pool instead, taken advice from someone who did come out ahead?
Personally: Would have played less- forked over $60 got under $20 in return. All in all Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Soldier On People- the best is yet to Come!

OK Even though Law of Probability Says Exact Powerball Number Can Come Up Twice in a Row It'll Never
The probability would only change if the lottery took out that specific combination and excluded it from ever winning again. But they don't.
How is it any different that 1 combination shows up twice versus 1 combination being drawn followed by another combination? At the end of the day all combinations are still viable and therefore have the same probability of being drawn.
The fact that it is seemingly unthinkable to have the same winning numbers drawn twice just proves how big the combin

Record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot won by 3 tickets
Even a pool of 50 people would still get a nice return and I hope all 3 were pools.
$4 mill each, I call that a nice payday.

Why Isn't the Next Powerball Jackpot Higher than Minimum?
Lottoreport shows sales of $23,900,282 for the starting jackpot of the last run. That would put about $8,126,000 in the jackpot pool, which is enough for an annuity of $13,106,606. Actually funding the starting jackpot annuity would take sales of about 3 times the normal amount. The last PB jackpot to get past $500 million was almost a year ago, and sales for the next starting jackpot were $29 million.
Based on results from the past year we might see the first increase of more than the $10 mi

Record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot won by 3 tickets
It was the biggest prize pool maybe, but not the biggest jackpot.
The wording is not irrelevant as the top prize is GUARANTEED to be paid to more than 1 ticket.
No one person can win the jackpot unless they buy ALL tiickets with that numer which would cost them a fortune whereas with Powerball you can win 1.5B$ for a 2$ investment.

Record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot won by 3 tickets
Good to see that there were at least three winning tickets.
Do We know yet if any of three consisted of individuals or lottery pools?
Heard that pools with over 10 players would need to set up an LLC to distribute the money to all the pool members
as Power Ball will only pay out up to ten names per winning ticket.
