$550 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot soars on rollover
Nearly $1 billion in multi-state jackpots can be won this week
By Todd Northrop
This week has seen a frenzy of lottery tickets sales across the United States, with both Mega Millions and Powerball simultaneously reaching massive levels. With the Powerball jackpot increasing to $550 million after the Wed. evening drawing, there is now close to $1 billion in combined jackpots on tap for lottery players this week.
Seasoned lottery players keep an eye on the lump-sum cash value of the jackp

Jackpot or noth'in!
The Ohio Lottery started the then 6 days a week pick-3 evening drawing in 1979; almost 38 years ago. The straight combination 601 was first drawn on July 31, 1980 and was drawn a total of 25 times in the Evening Drawing and another 6 times in the Midday.
How could you be up anything in the Midday drawing when 601 hit six times in 6915 drawings?

Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle - XXIV
Looks like the odds for the first early bird drawing will be in a range of 1:35,000 to 1:39,000. Not bad odds to win $100,000.
I definitely wanted to be in the first early bird drawing. My thinking was that more tickets will be sold during each of the later early bird drawing periods and that the odds would be higher. G5

Pennsylvania Millionaire Raffle - XXIV
I've re-thought how I'm going to play the Millionaire Raffle. During prior raffles, I usually (but not always) delayed buying the majority of my tickets until close to the drawing date.
Because there will be one Early Bird drawing per week until the Main drawing on July 8th, I'm thinking I'm going to buy at least one ticket each week from now until July 8th. I'll post ticket numbers as I get them. G5

Wisconsin SuperCash $$
That's probably the biggest draw for me, that I don't mind sharing the jackpot since you get that $350,000 no matter how many winners there are on a certain drawing. I think it's highly unlikely that you'll see anywhere close to 20 winning tickets on any given night. I can only remember a couple of times where there was more than one winning ticket for a drawing, and those tickets all belonged to the same person. For example, there was one winner who held three winning tickets for one drawing la

NJ Lottery adding Quick Draw game to its lineup
There is no reasonable way to do a lottery ball drawing every five minutes. Quick-Draw Keno games are one of the exceptions in which a computerized drawing makes sense. Another is raffle games, many of which have thousands of winning numbers.
Understood about the risks of a computerized drawing, but the only other possibility is not having the game at all.

I dont have a specific link. Check out the Software Advantage Gold by Gail Howard. It downloads Lotteries history for many Country and State/Province/Region. It allow one to view the drawing history then with a Right Click lets one EXPORT the drawing into a .TXT format with filters like choosing column 0 to 3. Try the Server/Client feature and let us know what you think about it. Andrew also put the source code online I dont know if you know Visual Basic6 But if you could check it out to see if

A quick question for the Guru's out there...
I have often wondered if we are looking at the wrong methods to measure a machine's signature. Hit counts, pair hit counts, etc.
Does any lottery software exist that plots a heat map of each drawing across that lottery's history, based on that individual drawing's position on an imaginary line starting from index #1 (the lowest drawing) to the last index # (the highest drawing possible) ?
I ask because one of the last ideas I wanted to build

No more roll-overs after tonight's Powerball drawing?
I budget my lottery money so I can play responsibly, so I'm not sure if there will be a winner tonight.......
What's your guess? Will the Powerball jackpot roll over? Or is tonight's drawing the end-all, be-all of this growing jackpot?
