THE LOTTERY BEST KEPT SECRET=Buying more than one ticket increases your chances of winning?
i am not an expert otherwise i would have won the jackpot by now. It the experts that tell us that there's more of a chance of getting hit by lighting than winning a lottery jackpot so I doubt if they ever win any jackpots either.

Has anyone won anything using Maddog's challenges?
I was just curious - Maddog's Powerball/MegaMillions challenge dominate the Jackpots forum. That being the case, has anyone won any good money using the #'s posted by members or is this an excercise in futility? Also is it best to choose 1 or 2 LP members numbers and then wheel them or a little bit from each member? I see a lot of 2 + 0, and an occasional 3 + 1 (Good call!) winners. Unfortunately, it is a different member each drawing. I guess what I am getting at is, what is the best way to use

Newbie.
Just signed up today and wanted to say hello to eveyone out here. I often checked this and decided to join. Looking forward to sharing in your experiences and hopefully mine. I'm a scratcher but don't necessarily chase jackpots but appreciate the $50 -$500 winners if I get it. BTW anyone know if you can get a list of remaining prizes ($500, 1000, 10,000 etc..) for scratchoffs for that's state lottery commission? Again hello all!

NY Scratch-off Discussion
It was #39 for the $10 3,000,000 richer ticket unforunately... honestly, given my experience buying that roll last night I'd give the $5 sweet million game a chance, but either roll makes sense. Plus I believe you said you're from NYC, and we all know how many times jackpots are won there, so I think buying either roll isn't a bad idea. Its just the odds of the sweet million game that caught my eye, I've never seen a $5 ticket with just 4.3 odds. Hope that helped a little..

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Stack47, Before we decide no system has hit a jackpot we have to know which game jackpot they were trying to hit. There is a huge difference between trying to create a system to win the $10 million plus jackpots in state Lottos, MM, and PB games than trying to create a pick-3 system with a $500 jackpot. Players decide the amount of their pick-3 and pick-4 jackpots based on their wagers. While that is true, I can't recall seeing anything like a Pick 3 Changed My Life series on TLC. Truth

Post your scratch ticket results
Nice one James1, that's where I'm at too, actually since my last 100.00 on Color of Money, I've been mainly getting only the TICKET Value, or alot of 25.00 on the 20.00 ticket. I'm starting to see some of the jackpots tick off the list at the flstate website. Good Luck, I hope some tens of thousands of wins come down for especially us at LP.

Astute observation if true, Coin Toss. Are you aware of any records quantifying the numbers of jackpots won by quickpicks as compared to those won by people using systems? For that matter, can it be assumed if a person who wins by a betslip pick was using a system? I assume you also have a source for records on the people who have won secondary level prizes by each of the methods?

Mega Millions Group Play
Even getting one person to join you is worth it. That alone doubles your chances of winning. What I like the most about large jackpots is making group play more viable. God luck.

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
Sometime back I also read about Gail Howard winning so many lotteries that she allowed her winning tickets to accumulate before cashing them so I reasoned that they must have been small wins. I've never read about her winning any jackpots. I assume when lottery systems sellers like Gail Howard, Steve Players and others need to have a bunch of winning tickets to sell their systems, they can afford to buy a large group of tickets and write their loses off as a business expense. They obviously

$151 Million: Lottery riches up for grabs in Mega Millions game
glad to see it getting near 100m cash, just 1 more roll..... $94.3m cash as a annuity of 151 vs powerballs highest of late 91.2m cash as a annuity of 182.1m , i almust love mm for having much more cash vs inlarged annuity for marketing , thro it has a lot to roll to catch up to our 240m cash record setter we had at this year start, thro if it rolls a few more times, 41 states that sell MM has proven if it gets ahold of large jackpots, the rollover amounts are a thing of Holy F...
