Number Selection is the Key
John,I know a lot the members agree with you, but so far no one has come up with a consistence way to select a small group of numbers that has all the winners. In the jackpot forum, participants in the Maddog and Pigskin challenges try to do this by picking a group of 12-18 white balls and 4-6 bonus balls. Once in a while some one might get a 4+1, but usually it's more likely 1-3 + 0-1.Most lottery software will track or compare a group of numbers with previous drawings, you may have to redefi

MegaMillions pool strategies.
JAG,I didn't really have any particular point in mind. I just started thinking about the flipside of RJOh's findings, and that prompted me to ask the question. We can analyze draw history in an infinite number of ways, but the statistics we come up with aren't always meaningful or useful. At any given point the numbers have to fall in some fashion, but I generally don't put much stock in such statistics unless there's a clear mathematical reason for them. Otherwise, they simply represent a snapsh

This is the file with the real numbers. After the drawing I will check to see if the strategy helped. If it did I may play the whole file next time or get a pool of friends to play.FILE : MM071905 05 10 27 46 49 +21 06 22 42 43 45 +34 13 29 31 38 41 +03 01 14 23 40 44 +31 07 27 36 37 44 +04 03 25 45 46 47 +33 14 20 34 47 53 +26 13 16 35 37 43 +43 02 05 27 34 43 +20 04 17 28 38 42 +02 22 23

Maddogs Mega Million Challenge 7/5
RJOH ----- this is absolutely incredible!I just finished my initial worksheet and counted 38 numbers for my initial pool, and again I have 16 numbers for final selection. Maybe the time has come for us????? to take the jackpot. I will take cash, and will struggle (for all of 1 second) to get along on a mere 18M.Seriously, I regard you as the resident statistician of LotteryPost, and, as such, I have considerable confidence in the posts and observations you share with fellow members of LP. Mega Millions Megaball Challenge 7/1/05
LANTERN,Since my RNG has logic to pick combinations using previous drawings as a guide, the new matrix gives it some problems because 53,54 and 55 haven't come up yet. I've had to use the option to manually force it to consider 53-56 in the 4th and 5th positions in some of the combinations. In another 30 drawings or so, all the numbers in the new matrix should have hit at least once and this will no longer be a problem. Since 68% of the possible combinations don't contain any of these 4 numbe

My Mega Millions program
The RNG that you are proposing is similar to the one that I wrote for my personal use. It can pick combinations for any pick5 or pick6 game with or without a bonus ball. It has the option of loading up to 1500 previous drawings of any game, analyzing them and picking parameters based on those drawings. Now when I load the draw history of MegaMillions the program sees a pick5 game that has 52 core numbers and 52 bonus numbers and I have to manually put in the parameters 5/56+1/46. That problem

Ohio Super Lotto Plus.. 06/15/05
OhioSuperLottoPlus jackpot continues to climb to $14M. With MegaMillions jackpot climbing to $25M after last night drawing, that $14M will not look as attractive. I suspect it will be won tonight. These are my picks for tonight's SLP drawing. Are Secrets Really Worth Keeping?
Hello RJOh,My point was that I think I'm the first person to apply RA to lottery numbers. Somebody out there might have done the same years before (RA was discovered about 20 years ago, so it's possible), but until they come forward with proof I'm going to stick by my claim to be the first. Here are a couple of examples that might prove salutory to hedgers:Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz both developed integral and differential calculus independently of each other, but Newton was so paranoid
