How you could make $584,000 dollars every year playing, 2by2
look at them as another lottery/jackpot with a: $584,000 a year jackpot.....that s how i will see them...
the ones where i say you can win: $400 Million dollars a year and up, look at them as 3 + jackpots or [n+] because for example, $500 Million in the bank for 1 year is, $25 Million dollars extra another PB jackpot...

Annuity Option
Something I have thought about recently is how you don't see many jackpots being paid out in annuities. Now granted lotteries still offer them, but almost every lottery winner (Thanks to MA, it isn't 100%) has taken the cash option. I can understand both sides here (Instant gratification vs. Financial security, Waiting for the next payment vs. Going broke quickly), but I think that the annuitized jackpot may become a thing of the past soon. As much as I would like the idea of getting an annual i

Whenever jackpots get pumpred up and Lotto fever hits most of the people playing don't even know how to fill out a playslip.
Inevitably, often one of these people win the jackpot.

2nd chance drawings...
Yeah, we've entered quite a few tix in that one as well as a $500,000 game. There's a couple of games that have $1 million jackpots that I think we've entered. It sure beats throwing the tixs away (which I never do anyway, I want the tax deduction if I win a sizeable amount).
The good thing about 2nd chance is that it is truly random.

How would you design a game so more people win?
hehehe yeah i think everyone would pick it.
seems theres a few people comment on wanting the pots to be shared around more but the games aint designed that way. the jackpots dfont happen if its easier to win. and if they canged the odds to play once the pot got higher why would anyone buy at harder odds instead of just waiting for the better odds.

How would you design a game so more people win?
I think the bottom line is sales: the huge jackpots attract more ticket sales. I think the lottery commissions have it figured out: the chance of winning a $200 million dollar jackpot sells far more tickets than a chance of winning one of 200 $1 million dollar prizes.
Personally I'd like to see a smaller top prize with more and bigger secondary and tertiary prizes, but I doubt we'll ever see that, other than the raffles as already mentioned.

Wyoming lawmakers moving to start lottery
The lesser populated western states should go together in a Rocky Mountiain Lotto or something to create some decent jackpots.
I think ameiken posted that the Colorado Pick 5 is a $20,000 jackpot. That's a little weak.

NJ, NY, CA, OH VA residents win most of the megamillions jackpots.
MA has one once since I started paying attention and that was back in 2004.
