Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
From Gail Howard on the topic:
-- Quick Picks are used by people who want to be in the action without putting any effort into winning. When you read articles about jackpot winners, it appears as though they all used either Quick Picks, birth dates or their children's ages. The vast majority of people do play that way. If the majority of tickets sold are Quick Picks, then it makes sense that the majority of jackpots won should be won with Quick Picks. However, when I saw the actual statistics,

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
These are the numbers drawn in Illinois Lotto last night (6/52)
1 3 4 13 37 40
Nobody hit it, quick pick or self pick. If there's a system that would have predicted those nnumbers, especially 1 3 4 13 for a Pick 6 6-52 game I want to see it. Oh wait, no one played those numbers.
PS
jarasan,
I play mostly quick picks. You assume much as usual. I don't avoid the challenge, like I've said, I can see where it can be fun, but personally I see no point in posting numbers I'm not going t

Why do people play QP's?
Anybody win a jackpot with QP's in the last 8 years here that proves a point?
not yet that i know of, but quick pick players don't possess the same mentality that system players possess.
system players think they can beat the lottery, and try everything under the sun to turn wishful thinking into a reality.
quick pick players realize systems don't work, and don't bother with the work ascribed to making something happen that is completely beyond their control, so it is more of a f

Lotto phobias
We might have done this before but is so it's been awhile.
Let's list some lotto-phobias and some LP Forums phobias.
Have fun!
Lotto:
one digit off phobia - the fear missing a Pick 3 or 4 by one digit
did not play phobia - the fear of not playing a set of numbers and having it come in for the drawing you skipped
was a quick pick too phobia - the feafr that your numbers come in on a jackpot game and someone else had them as a quick pick
Forums:

What makes a Good Quick Pick??
Hello:
That is how I played, off quick picks, since the numbers are computer generated.
like today, I got, 805 on a quick pick, but, 158 dropped,
I normally would have changed the 0 to a 1, but, I didn't, :-(
Maybe next time.
good luck.
Sometimes, the quick pick, str/box is the winning number.
Also, last night, I got, 763 on a quick pick, so, I played, 773, but, 663 dropped.
OMG, I was, so mad, lol,

New game: NY Sweet Million
Ok. A little test. Which will do better; my randomly selected numbers or quick picks from the machine. We have no data yet..so it's get lucky time! My real prediction is that this game will be as sucky as the rest. Just another revenue producer for the NY Lottery. They'll no doubt make sure the first win comes from a quick pick from some low income depressed area. To help attract interest....and money from the impoverished.
My Numbers:
3-8-14-21-27-33
3-7-11-26-37-38

Lottery ticket has all the numbers, but 7 seconds late
Wow every player's NIGHTMARE! , but this is why I agree that EVERYONE should be taking care of their ticket buys (especially a big prize draw like this) - and I know he already had tics but bought on impulse - these things should not be done last second. Like, when I tell my family I am gonna go buy tickets and they say you have two hours, what's the rush? I tell them better safe than sorry (especially because I usually selct my numbers right from the quick pick generator on this site it's a gam

Why I think quick picks suck
A HUGE majority of the 741 total drawings for that game have either 2 odd/2 even, 3 odd/1 even, 1 odd/3 even. 90% of the 741 draws to be exact.
That's because almost 90% of all the possible combinations have that odd to even ratio. In every drawing there is 10% chance that 4 odd or 4 even numbers will be drawn but that doesn't prove the combination 2-4-7-9 has a 90% chance of being drawn or a even a better chance than the combination 2-4-6-8. The odds of either combination being drawn is 1

Florida Lotto rolled once more
Pac, was that you who won at Sweetbay last night? If we don't hear from him any more, we'll know why!
According to the newspaper...
Two tickets matched all six numbers in last night's Lotto drawing and the ticket-holders will share the estimated $47 million jackpot.
One winner picked his numbers while the other bought a Quick Pick and let the Florida Lottery computers pick the numbers. Both tickets were bought in the same county and, for a change, it wasn't Miami-Dade County. The wi

Wow, my first time trying a system, matched 3 numbers.
I did the same thing as that winner and got 3 out of 5 plus the mega ball this past weekend. I used his stragtegy but made it simler for me.
I took the top 14 numbers drawn for the first five and then for the mega ball, I took the top 5 numbers that were drawn.
How I picked the numbers which would seem a little silly and weird is as follows:
1) Wrote each number on a small piece of paper and crumbled it up
2) Place the two sets of numbers in their own plastic ba
