Poland proposes online gambling ban
Following weeks of political scandal, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is determined to ban online gambling in the EU-member state.
The new legislation will outlaw all gambling that takes place outside land-based casinos, including online gambling, while imposing higher taxes on legal gambling operators. The first draft of the proposed reform will be ready in two weeks.
Internet gamblers may shrug off yet another crack down on their favorite past time, given that numerous countries have i

Texas Lottery confirms that Quick Picks are not generated by "central computer"
The problem I am having with your statements is that you are being vague about where you believe there is manipulation.
When we are talking about rigging a drawing , that specifically refers to altering the lottery drawing machine -- or the balls that get drawn from it -- in order to make certain numbers come out.
Now, if you are saying that Texas is controlling the outcome, that is the only way I know to do that, because if the drawing in NOT rigged -- it is entirely random -- then ANY CO

How to Prove Your Lottery IS Fixed?
I am new. The first thing I picked up on LP was a difference in terms: lotto and lottery... and I still get 'em mixed up.
The wife of a kid I grew up with just finished her career in a State lotto/lottery commission admin office. The State began with Power ball, then added P3 later on... I started playing P3 and HotLotto a short time ago and really don't have enough time-in-service to comment in length about fixed games, only opinion.
But in conversation with my old pal and his wife regard

N.C. Lottery conviction sends message about disclosure
NCPicks:
Yes, Indiana has an attorney general, and he has been apprised of the situation. His response, however, serves to illustrate the mentality we're up against. He wrote back and told us that, if any wrongdoing is proven, his office will be defending the crooked lottery officials.
We've contacted congressmen, senators and our governor, met with state representatives, lottery officials, prosecuting attorneys, the Marion County Grand Jury, the state police and many, many others. No one

Alabama candidates discuss lottery possibilities
Former Gov. Don Siegelman wants Alabama to have a lottery, just as he's argued since first running for governor in 1990, and he promises to fight for it if elected to another term in the state's top job.Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley says she's not necessarily against a the idea but told the Mobile Register she would neither push for a lottery herself nor block another public referendum on someone else's proposal.Baxley said it would be a shame for Alabama to depend on a lottery for revenue but added th

Virginia provides reference for N.C. lottery decision
With its peaked roofs, prairie-style windows and earth-toned stained glass, the elementary school situated on the poor side of town bears the hallmarks of the architect who inspired its design: Frank Lloyd Wright.Yet the soon-to-open Roanoke Academy for Mathematics and Science Elementary School is more than eye candy. What other elementary school, especially one where 98 percent of students receive free or reduced lunches, has a greenhouse? And halls that look like downtown streets, complete

Landmark bill would ban computerized lottery drawings in Delaware
Hey, Todd. Swiss cheese? I don't see you filling in any of those holes with facts or references or experience from visiting a gaming operation and seeing something amiss. You do miss the point, and I am certain you did not intend to insult by insinuating I am a lotery person out to battle the cynics and naysayers...You see, while all of the cynics and naysayers are worried about whether a draw method is rigged (which isn't happening at the hands of any state or casino in any small conspiracy, at

The Two Titans of the Lottery Industry
We often hear that the $40 billion spent on video games worldwide dwarfs the amount spent on the motion picture industry. But another form of mass entertainment dwarfs them both: the lottery business. According to a Morgan Stanley study, sales of lottery tickets around the world will top $160 billion in 2004.You should be thankful for the lottery business this week as you write a check for your tax bill. That's because you'd probably owe a lot more if not for your fellow citizens' crazed desire
