Can the Lotter be trusted
yeah maybe they have fixed cost and not many customers to cover them. I imagine if the PB keeps delivering huge jackpots, their income will increase, and the price per unit will come down as well. anyhow near billion cash jackpots I'll be buying there.

Thanks Todd! i'm just jealous of americans that can win non capped jackpots (on the other hand european jackpots, in most cases, are tax free...)

Man in Iraq wins $6.4 million Oregon Lottery jackpot
No fees for me while using credit card to buy tickets, maybe depends on how you transfer through your bank? But tickets cost about 2.5 times more so I only play when the jackpots get high and only a few lines. 3-5 lines. And for the orher commentd above, all of us foreigners that buy tickets also contribute in raising the jackpots, why wouldn't we also be allowed to take part of the wins?

Why do you play lotteries?
I'm just the opposite, I will probably only play when the jackpots are $300M or more. When its jackpots are lower other jackpot games with $1 tickets and better odds are more attractive.

Powerball change?
Well it is the reason they are changing the matrix. People don't get too excited about jackpots until they reach 300+ million. As far as spreading the wealth with smaller jackpots, well there are state lottos. And we all saw what happened with Monopoly Millionaire.

powerball sales continue to drop
Once the jackpot hits record levels - non-serious/common people will return to PowerBall and then will forget/not care about the new odds - and if PB starts and continues to build big jackpots - they will stay PB players. The sales won't be as high as before, but the profits will be bigger for the states because of the sales pushes of the big jackpots.

Gail Howard's lottery winners
LP's lottery book store sells GH's books so it's probably not a taboo subject, but this topic is about the players Howard claims won jackpots using her methods. Her products were around before MM and PB so many of those jackpots were between $100,000 and $2 million.

Would you stop playing the lottery if you were restricted to Quick Picks?
MM ticket sales are around 15 to 16 million with start-up jackpots ($15 million) and increases less than $1 million every drawing, but sales spike higher around the $100 million jackpot. If there is a 50/50 ratio, it's probably with the smaller jackpots and the ratio begins favoring QPs as the jackpot grows. QPs are probably over 95% of ticket sales when jackpot frenzy begins. To my knowledge there are no published QP to self-pick figures so your guess is as good as CT's.

Powerball changing in October to generate bigger jackpots
These jokers must think that we the players, are a bunch of suckers. They keep jacking up the odds and we keep playing regardless. Try playing your local p5 games. There is a lot of money to be made in p5 if you don't mind six figure jackpots. If you are hell-bent on playing only those monster seven figure and up jackpots, it stands to reason that these jokers are right when they call you SUCKERRRRR.

And we're rolling...MM at 85m
I don't know why it would matter if they don't have the winning combination. It's not like if there aren't any winners they give the prizes to the players who came closest to winning. Fact is in spite of the number of states added since its start jackpots are seldom shared by more than one winner. More states just make the jackpots grow faster which means if someone wins the jackpot tonight, we can play for a similar size jackpot in a few weeks.
