N.H. Lottery will sell Mega Millions
The New Hampshire Lottery Commission has approved the sale of Mega Millions tickets. The panel on Wednesday unanimously voted to add the multi-state lottery game. Lottery officials say in the past states could sell Powerball or Mega Millions but not both. Now states are left to decide whether to sell them both. Officials hope to have the new game available in New Hampshire by the end of January. The largest Mega Million jackpot was $370 million in March 2007.

Multi-state lottery shockwave sweeping America
Thus began a 13-year rivalry, under which states were forced tochoose one multi-state game or another, and lottery players had totravel to another state to play the multi-state game not offered intheir home state. So what happened to change all of that? The economy. So rather than do the right and sensible thing in the first place ...

Multi-state lottery shockwave sweeping America
After 5 years of trying, Ohio finally got enough votes this past Tuesday to change its law to allow casino gambling in state and those who were against it are still thinking up ways to continue their fight in spite of the votes. It probably will be a while before anyone bring up adding another multi-state lottery game. It was only after several Ohioan won big PowerBall jackpots in Indiana and TV coverage of all the Ohioan cars in Michigan buying BigGame tickets that Ohio added MegaMillions.

Arkansas Gov. and new lottery director meet
Prelude of coming battle over Keno The head of the Arkansas state lottery and Gov. Mike Beebe met for the first time Monday but didn't talk much about their differences on keno. Executive Director Ernie Passailaigue's meeting with the governor came five days after Beebe told reporters he would oppose keno being instituted in Arkansas as a state lottery game. Passailaigue has said he envisioned keno being played in bars and restaurants by people watching monitors for winning numbers that

Quick decision: New Ark. Lottery chief recommends Powerball
I think this is a serious error in judgement. Arkansas is surrounded by Powerball states, most notably with Tennessee. Now, those people in Memphis who could have crossed the Big Muddy to get Mega Millions in Arkansas, will now most likely be keeping their money at home. Not to mention folks in Monroe, LA, Joplin, MO, and tourists to Branson. Ernie will probably make better decisions for other aspects of the lottery, but this is a real missed opportunity. As for the whole Powerball/Mega in th

Pick-Quickpick Question
That is not true as a blanket statement. Such a thing would only be considered by a state for certain games such as Pick 3 and Pick 4. Not so for a lotto game like Pick 5 or Pick 6 (or a multi-state jackpot game). Also, states that payout pari-mutuel, like California and New Jersey, do not have that issue. The numbers don't run out because the payouts are always adjusted based on the number of tickets sold for the winning combination.
