Kansas Lottery sets sales record
The Kansas Lottery hits the jackpot itself record sales are recorded for the fiscal year ended June 30th.
Lottery officials report sales of nearly $241 million. That's up two percent from the previous year, which also showed record sales. Some $71 million will go into state coffers, the highest transfer in a single year since Lottery sales began in 1987.
Kansas Lottery director Ed Van Petten cited the success of the lottery's first $20 scratch ticket and Kansas-themed tickets promoting b

Next "Huge" jackpot??
The jackpot record is still reachable by PowerBall. In order for the PowerBall to be capped, it must be up to AT LEAST $365M, but if it comes just short of that, for example $360M, it would probably make a new record jackpot if it rolls over. Never count out PowerBall.

MM jumps to $19 million
Bradly_60...the $19 million figure is not a record. The record for a second draw is $20 million which was reached in April of 2006. It occured after run that ended at $265 million.

MM Record for 5 + 0?
From MM list of winners e-mail:
5 + 0 43 $250,000
4 + 1 319 $10,000
43 people had 5 + 0, I'm wondering if that's a record...that's a payout of $10,750,000 for second place ...
Wonder if 319 people with 4 + 1 is a record, too.

MM jackpot turns out to be $390m
It doesnt matter if Powerball gets to $370 million or higher before the cap because it will still not go over $390 million annuity. The cap is set from the previous record of $365 million, not how high the jackpot is before the cap. So all powerball can do now is TIE the record. But even if PB reaches $390 million, the cash value would only be approximately $187 million compared to Mega Millions $233 million.

How high will MM go this run?
The 11 people who voted that the jackpot will reach a new record were right. It has finally broken the all time record and reached $370 million.

MM now at $355 million
I hope it does hit there because it will unseat Powerball's "record," which is not really a record because the $365 million annuity was worth only $177 million cash. If there's any justice, the jackpot will be at least $366 million annuity.

Mega now at 340
If I don't win Mega on Tuesday, I hope it rolls once more so that its annuity will be a record too, but it probably won't roll. The current cash jackpot beats Powerball's "record" annuity's cash jackpot, even if you added the match 5 bonus pool cash to it (the $365 million PB annuity was worth $177 million cash, and the match 5 bonus pool had $20 million cash, totaling only $197 million).

Do You Want $267mill--Listen Carefully
I hope Mega Millions rolls once more to set their own jackpot game record. If it rolls two more times, a US jackpot record will occur.
