There's one thing I'm aware of that The NY Lottery did with Lotto (quite some time ago) and it seemed to turn a lot of players off. They revised the prize pool down to 38% from 50% of the total take. As for me, I play Lotto via a subscription. (I just renewed it yesterday) I have 6 lines going ($3.00) in every drawing. I'm not so much interested in winning a jackpot (of course I'd take it if I won one) as I am hoping to get very lucky and win the 2nd tier prize which uses the bonus ball.

I use to run a lottery pool back in day, and every player could buy their own tickets beyond our collective effort, no problem. The only rule the group and I had was all tickets bought in the cities where I worked was fair game to anyone on the list. My personal tickets had to be bought in my home town that was an hour away. That was said before every collection. So, if we had won a rather large pot any dispute would have ended immediately with the verification of where the ticket was purchased.

I'm not really concerned about the drawing, I've got that. What I'm trying to figure out, is how can you eliminate SEVERAL digits in a position using your method. Not playing a particular digit in a position is good, but if you could tell me 7 digits not to play in a position or two, then THAT's nice! Okay, everyone, I'm seeing doubles or triples today... but maybe not? Regardless, whenever we do get back to singles....
