Unemployed lottery playing
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on November 12, 2004I don't work, but I'm retired and not looking for a job and I enjoy playing the lottery as much as some people enjoy smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, going to the movies and other types of entertainment that cost money. Maybe your question should be Why do unemployed people spend money on smoking, drinking, gambling, and other entertainment? I think people who spend money they don't have would do so even if they never bought a lotter

OhioSuperLotto...11/06/04
Once again I'm reminded of the 2 things hard about playing the lottery. 1. Winning a prize of $100 or more. 2. Collecting your money if it over $100This time, the small store where I bought the ticket didn't carry enough cash. Once before I cashed a Buckeye5 ticket there for $225 and had some trouble getting my money so I warned them this time about the value of the ticket. Two years ago when I matched 5 of 6, they had never had any winners that size, so they weren't sure about the paper work

Why cant we see pick3 results? -Todd
Are we not ALL adults??? Justin, with all due respect if you DIDN'T want the comments that are following this post, you should have sent Todd a PM from the beginning. RJOH has a right to comment on the post because it is in a PUBLIC DISCUSSION. In all honesty he IS correct; MANY people talk about leaving the Lottery Post Forum and go no where. You know I have much respect for you and I would not do anything intentionally to hurt or upset you. I read the post many times today before posti

lotto system competition
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on October 25, 2004People are already posting their predictions, and their results can be checked. I would think that a system, unlike predictions, would try to trap winning combinations which I doubt a system could do in 10 lines. I would expect results similar to the ones already posted because the predictors are posting their best effort now. Good luck to anyone who get something started.RJOhYou test a system be seeing how often it predicts winning numbers

lottery software
RJOh, you are right of what you say.If there was any system around that can predict by itself and suggest the winning ticket with great accuracy, trust me, it would not be for sale. You would never know of its existance actually. We are many years far from this target and this is why many people misunderstand what a lottery program can do for them. This is not any programmer's fault really, science is not so advanced in these fields and if we (programmers) were able to develop the science, we'd

PowerBall Drawing for 10/09/04
I know everyone else is thinking about 10/6 PB jackpot, but if there is no jackpot winner Wednesday the jackpot will grow to over $200M and many people will be forming pools at the last minute for Saturday drawings. In Ohio that means someone will have to drive out of state to buy those tickets. This is the time to draw up a contract of understanding, decided cost and size of the pool, and who will be in charge. Players should be able to see the numbers they are playing before the drawing. F

Mega-Millions 10/1
JAG331I tried a different approach. Years ago, I wrote a program in BASIC that have a file format for ten two characters entrants. Over the years as the lotteries have changed I'm still using that same format.yr$ = last two characters of the yearmo$ = 01-12 to represent the monthda$ = 01-31 to represent the dayn1$ to n6$ = to represent a number 01-99 n7$ = started out to represent the jackpot amount but today jackpot need three characters so now is used to represent the bonus number. When ever

taxessss and the lottery
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on September 28, 2004 It would be nice to be able to deduct all your loses from your winnings before considering them as additional taxable income . Since I could only deduct a loss up to the amount I won and not my actual lost, the fact that I spent $2500 for lottery tickets and won $1500 actually increased my taxes for that year. I ended up having to pay $300 more taxes to cover the $15
