Multi-state lottery options will expand in 33 states
Chomping at the bit to play powerball in TX. Great timing as my PB pool numbers ran out 1-16-10 and I would have had to drive to LA to get new numbers. I am so HAPPY about this. I like the idea of more jackpot winners as long as we still see an occasional 150mil+ jackpot for each one. What I hope we don't get is a lot of shared smaller jackpots.

Arkansas Powerball lottery winner in no rush to claim jackpot
I don't know what the statistics are but I can tell you that whatever demographic buys the most tickets will win the most jackpots. Do you find that unfair?

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
There are already games of this nature......scratchers and Pick 5 no need to have a game with multiple states that produce 50k jackpots when a state can stand alone and produce those type results

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
It all depends on your imagination and expectations. I suppose 20-30 Million will pay for alot of Beer, potato chips and cable tv bills. I can see where different people would care about different amounts. Certainly, if you are 18 years old and expect to live to 100, you could make an argument for $500,000,000-$600,000,000 jackpots. I have a minimum amount to play for but that does not stop me from figuring out what to do with more.

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
I analyzed your argument and posted a thread in the jackpots forum. You are actually on to something.

Dual multi-state lottery sales may keep jackpots lower
The question should be will the other states increase their profits? because to play the extra jackpot game twice a week the, players will probably play less on other lottery games. The increased profits come from occasional players who don't play until a jackpot is huge and as the article said the average size of winning jackpots should decrease. Will more money be spent on both games or will the same amount of money (or even less) be distributed between the two games?

Store manager charged after winning lottery
I think that's a great policy that all states should have. With the reports of so many clerks and owners beating the odds and winning jackpots and such it just might help to keep them honest. Afterall, if they're truly that lucky, their luck should continue when buying their tickets somewhere else. None of them should be allowed to buy where they work or cash a ticket that was bought where they work.

Brainstorming using Smart Luck Advantage Plus
With 473 drawings since the last matrix change, MegaMillions players who use game history as a guide in picking their combinations have an advantage over PowerBall players who do the same. I hope the MegaMillions matrix stays the same with the addition of more states which will allow the jackpots to reach between $100M to $350M more quickly with more winners.

What's Your Lottery New Years Resolution?
I live in Miami, and I've noticed that almost all, if not all, of the top prizes for scratch-offs are won in little towns elsewhere in Florida. Maybe it's a fair trade-off since most jackpots are won here, but regardless I vow to never buy another scratch-off within Miami city limits. I'll save my money for when I'm on the road and pass through some place I've never heard of. That's a few hundred $ staying in my pocket this year.
