Texas trust claims second half $1.8 billion Powerball lottery jackpot
I have a question. Did the winner have to form a trust to claim the prize? I thought Texas allowed winners to remain anonymous. What are the benefits of using a trust in this instance?

If You Won BIG, Would You Perform Risk Management?
My top concern after winning a large amount would be security for myself and my family. Securing the finances is important, obviously, but I'd be nervous every time somebody left the house because of the kidnapping risk. No anonymous claiming in my state, so your name's going to show up on the radar of literally a bunch of people you'd rather never meet.

$1.8 billion Powerball jackpot to be split by two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas
I was in a no tax state today that lets players stay anonymous so I bought a single line for MM for 10 draws which is as far out as they sell them and got the 10x multiplier. I'm marking that in the good luck column.

$1.3 BILLION: Powerball jackpot soars to 5th-largest in game history
From what I've found in my research, there are only two states, WY and TX, that allow a winner to remain BOTH anonymous and pay no state taxes. That's the best of both worlds.

North Carolina lottery winners of $5 million and more could remain anonymous
Publishing the identity of lottery winners is putting a target on their back. Thankfully, State Lotteries in Australia allow winners to remain anonymous. Graeme Thorne was an eight year old Australian boy, who was kidnapped and murdered in 1960. LOTTERY POST 25TH ANNIVERSARY GIVEAWAY #2
Lottery wins over a million, I would stay anonymous. Invest a portion. Make some home improvements, take a vacation and a cruise with family. Help out a few family and friends with a small donation only (don't want them catching onto me winning the lottery)

New Jersey couple discovered $1 million Mega Millions lottery ticket sat in drawer for five months
I believe it is the lottery that reports the story when someone goes in to claim their prize. The lottery asks the winner the story behind them finding out they have won, then asks if they would like to go public with their name or remain anonymous

If you won a huge jackpot...
I work in the corporate world which I don't like so I would definitely leave my job in a heartbeat so the next person can have it. I would also try to remain anonymous if could and wouldn't share with my coworkers that I hit the jackpot. If I was in a serious profession such as a doctor or lawyer I may delay leaving but for a regular 9-5 corporate job I would run out of there and never look back!

Michigan House passes bill granting anonymity to multi-state game lottery winners
Another effort from legislators to help winners hide their identities By Kate Northrop The Michigan House of Representatives passed a bill that would grant anonymity to all lottery winners of multi-state game prizes. In a renewed effort to help lottery winners keep their identities private, the House has passed a bill that would allow winners of multi-state game prizes to protect their names from public disclosure.
