Okay because when I initially saw the story months ago it said that casino's would be first and the lottery would follow in a different year When I just checked it I couldn't get a straight answer out of the AI but the casino part did happen 1 January

If there were any betting system that beat the casino, they would all be out of business. It can't be done because you cannot overcome the house edge. Short term wins from a betting system get offset by losses. The house always wins in the long run.

I think having personal wagering rules is a great way to approach gambling in general. Just as good with lottery games as it is when going to a casino. It keeps you from making bad impulse judgments on the spot. Of course, everyone's rules should be personalized so it balances your fun with your own spending limits.

I'm not critical of casino employees in general, just the ones who try to browbeat people into making bad bets. Let the player/LP forum participant make his/her choices. If we ask for advice, feel free to chime in. Otherwise, please stuff it.

Actually, I work in a casino now and have for several years. A dollar bet that could win a million dollars is not necessarily a bad bet. It depends on the probability of winning. If it's 1 in 12 million, (assuming there isn't something else to sufficiently make up for it), it's a bad bet. That would be the PB Powerplay.

The job of a pit boss is to ensure the game is being dealt fairly, and to stop cheaters. It is not their job to determine what is a good bet and what is a bad bet. Most casino employees don't know the difference anyway. They just work there. Your badgering of people who refuse to play bad bets is not working. Give it up.

CDanaT, As for spending one more dollar, I worked in Vegas casinos for 17 years and on casino riverboats for 5. Every pit boss I worked for said that any $1 bet that might win one million dollars is a good bet. There is no doubt they have a wee bit more understanding of gambling on things and betting that you do.
