Texas Lottery shake-up sparks optimism
The Texas Lottery's enforcement division was restored this week and the role of a longtime agency official has been reduced in a shake-up that follows nearly a year of public scrutiny over security, ethics and the treatment of employees at the $3 billion agency.
Employees and lottery observers said Tuesday they were optimistic about the changes, hoping they can improve employee morale, security and public confidence in the agency.
I have hopes and aspirations it will be a good deal, but i

NC Cash 5
I got my QPs on Saturday at a Circle K but in Charlotte
The wheel I used was 53226-1 I had 4 numbers in the wheel, I missed 41. Some of the plays that the wheel produced I didnt use, because it was all odd digits, or what I felt were too many low digits, with a low power number it tends to do that. I picked panels that has skips of 1 or 2. Too many skips of 1 yesterday
I am not playing Cash 5 until it grows, but tonight we need a skip of 7 and that number is 22 and it does look good. Im ou

Minnesota Lottery director resigns after timeshare inquiry
Minnesota State Lottery director Ed Van Petten abruptly resigned Friday, coming after an inquiry found that taxpayers have reimbursed the director for staying in his own timeshare unit when traveling.
This morning, I met with Minnesota Lottery Director Ed Van Petten, said Gov. Mark Dayton's chief of staff Jaime Tincher. During that meeting, Mr. Van Petten offered his resignation. I accepted his resignation. We will immediately begin a search for his replacement.
Van Petten had been reimb

Would you quit your job if you won the lottery?
I'd be outta there in a hearbeat! Maybe hire Johnny Paycheck and his band to deliver the formal resignation letter.
Sooooooo many other things that I could do with my time and so many other people who need the job. Status shouldn't be defined by who you work for or what kind of job you have. Its what you stand for that matters.
Actually, I don't really believe the survey. Its so easy to do an online survey and click off your responses without really thinking about it, 'cause its all hypot

$360 MILLION: Powerball jackpot raised on huge sales
Actually if you live in a state that allows you to remain anonymous it isn't really as discreet as it sounds. The media recently got the name of an anonymous winner through the freedom of information act and disclosed it to the public. That is why having an attorney claim your prize under a trust that can be hidden under several other trust is so important.
One thing I would like to clarify is that there is no need to totally alienate all your close friends. Once you have structured your fina

Undercover lottery investigation tests store clerks' honesty
I can't watch the videos but if the statements in the article concerning the New York Lottery's actions in relation to this sting are definitive of the situation then heads should roll in the upper echelons of the New York Lottery.
It is unfreakingbelievable and unconscionable that the New York Lottery would give potential crooks, cheats and thieves in their network a heads-up on someone trying to catch them in the act. They should have welcomed and been actively involved and participating in

The morning after you win & your job
I would call out sick and go straight to lottery headquarters to make sure the ticket is valid. I wouldn't want them to say there was a printing error .
Once it was confirmed, I would then claim it anonymously (we can do that in SC), book a hotel room for the week (since lottery headquarters is an hour from my home) and then visit an attorney tax accountant. I would then go to work the next day and not say a word to anyone. Just that I'm not feeling like my usual self!!! Which would be no li

so would you tell your boss why you were quitting your job
This is another thing I daydream about. It's a wonder how I get anything done with all this daydreaming. LOL.
In my head, this is how it would go down: I'd go back to work, but over a period of a week, every day I'd take a few items of personal stuff home with me until it was all cleared. Then I'd leave my ID badge on my desk along with a letter of resignation.
In reality, I'd talk to my boss face to face and say that due to personal reasons I am putting in my two weeks notice.
That'

Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery
I believe that statement was made to take the attention from who would benefit the most by having a rigged drawing.
When Hargrove announced the Tennessee Lottery was going to computer drawings she sited to maximize dollars for education as one of the reasons. When players began pointing out a possible problem with the new computer drawings because no doubles were drawn, they were told that security had looked into it to insure integrity of its games to maximize dollars for education .

Ontario Lottery to undergo criminal investigation
The Ontario government called police yesterday after the province's ombud accused unscrupulous lottery-ticket retailers of collecting tens of millions of dollars in dishonest'' winnings and the responsible Crown agency of letting them get away with it.
Public Infrastructure Minister David Caplan asked police to look into Andre Marin's report probing a disproportionate number of jackpot wins by so-called lottery insiders a report that amounted to a searing indictment of the Ontario Lotter
