Lena Horne: 1917 - 2010
=====================
Born on June 30, 1917, Lena Horne was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world. She came to the attention of Hollywood in 1942 and was the first black woman to sign a meaningful long-term contract with a major studio, a contract that said she would never have to play a maid.
Horne died at the age of 92 on May 9 at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

Are low numbers or high numbers better with payout?
On the Texas lottery website, you can view the pdf files of the contract terms with the printers and each alternate pack is printed head to tail with it's neighbors i.e.: each column of tickets in a sheet is a pack and one column would be numbered from the top of the sheet while the next would be from the bottom of the sheet. This means that there is no effective difference between low number or high number tickets, both low and high number tickets are tickets that were close to the top or botto

Tonight of nbc investagates
I saw a similar story a few years back that happened in Alabama. A guy drove to Georgia to buy lottery tickets every week and gave some of them to waitresses as tips every morning when he bought breakfast at a local Waffle House with an unwritten understanding that if any of them ever won a jackpot that all the waitresses would share. One of the waitress and her husband won a jackpot, claimed it and didn't share it with the other waitress. The courts in Alabama wouldn't hear the case since Alaba

I'm thinking of starting a lottery pool
I agree with Guru101.
You must have written agreements (not necessarily a contract ). I suggest buying quick picks and making copies for everyone (NOT on the company's copier!!). Have on the paper who is in the pool for that draw. If you let people pick their own numbers, you run into the problem of someone saying it was MY number that won, I should get all of (or most of) the millions of dollars!

Intralot's D.C. Lottery contact finally passed by council
This is a large contract, he says. You'd expect it to be competitive. People are going to fight.
Yeah, and in DC what they're fighting about is who's getting the biggest kickback for their vote.

Ohio Lottery opposes state audit
Since we already know that, what kind of useful information do you expect we'd get by spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on an audit? The purpose of an audit is to look for irregularities, mismanagement, or inefficiency. Bonuses are either tied to rules, legislation or an employent contract, or based on meeting performance goals. The former can be fixed without an audit by simply changing the rules or the terms of renewed employment contracts. The latter probably means that the fat bonuse

Delaware Hype 11/1-11/4
PA .Transport Workers Union Local 234, which represents bus drivers, subway and trolley operators, and mechanics, has been without a contract since early spring.
A potential walkout could come on the eve of the Phillies' three-game home stand for the World Series, that starts Saturday - creating a transportion nightmare for those trying to get to and from the games.

Iowa steelworkers group claims $1 million Powerball lottery prize
There is been a guy I know who likes to ask me if I played the lotto and when I say yes he says he also bought some tickets and always finishes off with this sentence me and you shall share whatever we win. Now I dont believe that and even though I dont say it to him, I have no illusions about it.
whatever shall I do? This guy has always been nice to me but I suspect that he is trying to pave way for a verbal contract defence if I ever happen to win.

$500K lottery prize divides two elderly sisters
I don't get this. Sokaitis can't remember what the falling out was about but she can remember the contract? Hmmmmmm. Sokaitis states she doesn't want to drag her sister into court but believes she and her family are due a share of the money? I thought the contract was between the two sisters? If so, where does her family factor in? Sokaitis states she misses and loves her sister but all I want is what is rightfully mine. All I want is my share, nothing more. How about a mended relationship betwe
