Beginning Jackpots...
Murgatoyd,
Each year or so the percentage of households that your income will be higher than will decrease.
Consider if someone had won $15M or $40M 30 years ago and took the annuity.

Are you for a Cash Jackpot payout regardless of the amount?
At my age, cash is king.
I would be dead before the annuity ends. Not to mention paying taxes, and not knowing how much taxes each, only knowing taxes would increase each year. They never go down, only up.
If I win PB or MM, I could live on the cash amount and still have money left over after 25 years.
To each his own.

N.J. woman claims state's biggest-ever scratch-off jackpot
Congratulations Lacey Katona.
I wonder if Lacey will be receiving this as a $5M annuity, or receiving it as a lesser 1-time cash lump-sum payout?
If as a lump-sum, does any member know amount before all taxes deducted?
Cheers!

Well the starting amount of $500,000 is all cash for the PA 6/49 ... no annuity, but it still seems to increase slowly.
I hope you and others will continue to post information on this game ... current jackpot, cash amount and if it gets hit. I can go to the WI lottery site every so often when I think of it.

$50M Canada lotto winner says he had a vision of winning numbers
I worked with Sergio Martini who won 10.3 million dollars on January 6, 1996 playing Powerball. He didn't give any money to charity. Ten of his sanitation co-workers, myself included would give him one dollar to buy each of us a Powerball ticket because he lived in Brewster, New York which is near Connecticut and we didn't. He used to give us our tickets one or two days after the drawing, and no one ever complained to him about it. The day he one, one of the guys didn't get a ticket. Very suspic
