A Florida Lottery Scam??
I just had a conversation with a representative from the local TV station in Fort Myers, FL that carries the FL lottery drawings. She expressed that they didn't have any plans to start showing the pick 3 4 drawings anytime soon. They will continue to show the numbers at the bottom of the screen though. In her explanation of why they don't show the drawing, she said that it was because of advertising spots at that time and they had to show those over the drawing. She could not give me a reason

Ohio Rolling Cash5 repeats
Ohio Rolling Cash5 matched 3 from the previous drawing yesterday. It has done that seven times, is it getting ready to match 4 from the previous drawing as it done last year? Maybe it's getting ready to do a repeat of the previous drawing.11/04/05 01 05 06 20 2511/03/05 01 05 06 16 2409/28/05 19 21 27 29 3309/27/05 05 27 29 33 3609/07/05 07 09 18 35 3809/06/05 18 31 35 38 3906/27/05 03 04 11 26 3406/25/05 04 08 11 12 2606/23/05 13 17 19 21 2506/22/05 12 13 17 25 3106/17/05 07 22 24 2

Mega Millions lottery jackpot rises to $128 million
The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery has grown to $128 million.None of the tickets sold for Friday's $108 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Tuesday. There were nine second-prize winners: 2 from California, 1 from Michigan, 1 from New Jersey, 3 from New York, 1 from Ohio and 1 from Texas. Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000. The California second-prize winners will receive

Powerball at $340,000,000!!
There is a rule that if Powerball reaches a new record, for every drawing, the jackpot cannot increase by more than $25 million per drawing. The previous record was $315 million, so for next drawing, the annuity jackpot cannot be higher than $340 million - if it is not hit Wednesday, Saturday's jackpot cannot be higher than $365 million, and so forth. The extra money that goes to the jackpot rolls down to the match 5+0 winners, and that accumulates until the record jackpot is won, on which d

Ohio players - Lot'O Play
Well, we found out a few things on this new Lot' O Play drawing for Ohio.1. The jackpot does not increase very much. It only increased by the minimum of $100,000.2. The numbers are drawn from a hopper and not a computerized drawing.3. The jackpot will be divided by the number of 5 of 5 winners? Not giving much out for a $2 wager if multiple winners.4. The Rolling Cash Five rolls over better for the odds of winning a jackpot.5. It seems like this game is targeted to attract the lower prize

That was weird!
Well, here's what I found out when I wrote to the Kentucky Lottery Corporation. First, my inquiry; then, their response. You can judge the rest for yourselves.aye'Last night as I watched the Kentucky Lottery drawings for Pick 3, Pick4, and Cashball on WDRB Channel 41, there was a sign on each ballmachine which read, KLC Test Drawing. Why? Were those not the correctofficial draw numbers for Saturday night? I've never before seen anythinglike that. What happened?Due to an error by our crew, sign

Is it possible....
http://www.holycross.edu/departments/economics/vmatheso/research/lottery2.pdfVictor Matheson has a nifty paper dealing with whether the $27 million Virginia lotto was a good bet, and some neat graphs and formulas. Unfortunately I don't see any validation on whether the group won or lost!He does bring up a good point about expected return...when buying the Trump Ticket (all possible combinations), you have to consider how many tickets will be sold for that drawing. Extrapolating, I would thin

Mega Millions Megaball Challenge 7/1/05
My RNG picked 25 lines for the MegaMillions 07/05/05 drawing using the logic programmed into it. It only considers numbers that have hit in previous drawings so 53,54 and 55 was not in the mix. I may not play its picks but this will give me a chance to see if its logic need to be revised. I was going to back test it for Friday's drawing, but I think the results are more creditable if I don't know the results of the drawing ahead of time. Good luck on your picks.RJOh
