Indiana woman claims $2.5 million Lotto jackpot
It was an impulse buy for me to purchase one dollar of Lotto and one dollar of Powerball.
Another great proof that you only to spend a dollar to win. Don't burn a hole in your pockets chasing lotto jackpots and you shall hit sooner or later.

N.C. lottery store owners, employees winning big and often
Smells like rotten fish to me. some jackpots like P3 or P4 for instance..granted but scratch offs? I don't think so. Someone needs to investigate them. If stores are winning that much, the players can't be winning anything. How in the world can a store repeatedly cash in a winning scratch off? They would have to have someone who scratched for them everyday..all day! How do they know where the big winners are? Are they concentrated in one spot or one area?

Cash option and taxes
I stand by my statement that the overwhelming majority of lottery websites (PB MM) DO advertise both annuity AND cash value jackpot amounts.Your state only advertises the annuity jackpot amount but that still doesn't make it false advertisement because you CAN receive the full annuitized amount (minus taxes) if you so choose. It will just take you 29 or 30 years to get it.I have never been in a lottery retailer that does not advertise both methods of payments.Granted, the annuitized amount is more

Cash option and taxes
The cash value is actually the amount of money in the prize pool and the advertised jackpot is the amount of the annuity that can be purchased with that money. All jackpots are estimates of how much money will be in the prize pool at the time of the drawing and as four4me said, the estimates are usually on the low side so actual jackpot will be higher.
Currently they are estimating there will be at least $102 million in the next Mega Millions jackpot and with that amount, they can purchase a

Cash option and taxes
No.I mean the Official Powerball website. http://www.powerball.com/ the Official Mega Million website http://www.megamillions.com/whereto/states_il.asp
They both clearly state what the annuity jackpot AND the cash option jackpots are.Having proved my point I will not argue with someone that gets his kicks arguing with everyone who has a different opinion than they do.

Powerball and Mega Millions in every state
What is the difference between spending $4/week on 4 $1 tickets or $4/week on 2 $2 tickets?
Which game will be the first to raise ticket prices to make their jackpots increase faster?

Question to people who play Ohio Lottery?
The jackpots continue to grow so I'm playing Classic Lotto one more time before switching back to MegaMillions. Now that MegaMillions has gone a couple of drawings without a win, it's looking better.
Besides, the best I've done lately with CL is a match 3 in 20 lines for $2. The odds of a $2 win with MM are better.

"President Obama today announced plans for a national lottery..."
A few years back, Ohio thought like that and it almost put Ohio lotteries out of business. I think it was in the early 90's when the surrounding states still didn't have a lottery and people from Indiana, Pennsylvania and Kentucky would come to Ohio to play the 649 game which had jackpots of $40-$75M at the time. Someone came up with idea of limiting the amount one ticket could win to $20M, that way as long as the jackpot amount was large all winning tickets would get $20M instead of one getting

PA Match 6 lotto ending?
This game is slightly modified though as I said, but still too many numbers in my opinion. I win a decent amount on big 4 games, but I prefer jackpots that pay enough to have life altering effects. So I will still play this once in awhile. I like when the Cash 5 goes up into the millions, but then there is usually 3 winners making it much smaller. You basically have two choices, play smaller games with smaller prizes or bigger games with high prizes at worse odds. I do a combination of both, but
