Ohio649P for 11/30/02
IIRC, winners in Ohio (both 6/49 and Mega Millions) can choose cash AFTER they won, even on an ANNUITY ticket. A Mega Millions winner would have been foolish to want the 26 annual payments. However, given the difference in cash value percentages of Ohio Lotto (44%) vs Powerball (54%), whose annuity options each are 30 equal annual payments, it might be justifiable to want the Ohio 6/49 annuity. Both jackpots reset to $10 million. It should be interesting to see which jackpot grows faster. It is a perfect comparison, because the there can be no excuses of cyclical ticket sales (i.e., day of week, seasonality, holidays, etc.) impacting the jackpot gr

Damn those New Yorkers..
Gary: As long as the Mega Millions ticket sold in Brooklyn is for CASH VALUE (since NY doesn't allow players to choose after they win).
