Claiming as a legal entity
From the OP: The group members must decide on one payment option; it is not possible for some group members to take the cash option and others to choose the annuity. Any group that doesn't have this decided before hand is looking for trouble.

Which Lottery to play in NY?
jaggudada, the draw games are usually won by quick picks like Mega Millions and Power Ball. Play self pick in these two games just in case you are a very lucky player. Have you noticed that frequent posts here deal with Lump Sum v.s. 30year annuity ? Good Luck !

Would you post a Major Win here on the Forum?
I would. I will still be anonymous. I do not have a scanner so I might mail a copy of the ticket to Todd to prove my win and he could post it for me. Any other ideas ? I will be taking the annuity option. I have my reasons. Do you want to read them ? Good Luck !!

Texas Lottery suspends sales of Monopoly Millionaires' Club game
True but that $25 million is annuity... which means it's anywhere from 50-70% of advertised value. All I am saying is that when people win a million they are not millionaires... and if they win $25 million after cash option and taxes come along they are significantly less wealthy than originally thought... And you are right you can live well on interest from 1-2 million but... even low risk investments have risk. and i think that for you to enjoy the money and not make it a burden you woul

Texas Lottery suspends sales of Monopoly Millionaires' Club game
Truth is... we all want a 200 plus million jackpot. We don't need a poll to find out if the average lottery player prefers a $200 million jackpot over a $25 million 30 year annuity and with this game there must be a jackpot winner before anyone can win $1 million. And did I mention the ticket cost $5? At what point will the players figure out the lottery people are insulting our collective intelligence?

Input Playing the Various 6-49 Games
I remember reading a little about that game awhile back ... I didn't know it had ended and didn't know it was a 6/40 game. How much did it cost ... maybe only a dollar? Sounds like it was interesting with those lower odds ... the 6/49 game in PA is getting hit more frequently or so it seems and it grows very slowly ... on Thursday it will be 1.3 million ... so the Sweet Millions game with the lower odds for a million dollar prize seems like a winner ... I would have played it. Did you win a m

Wild Thought, Lottery Post Having a Convention?
This idea of a convention comes up every so often. People here can't agree on quick picks vs self picks, cash option vs annuity, and holding or not holding a news conference if given the choice (anonymous if allowed, or not). You think they'd agree on a location for such a convention?

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
Maybe I would play if it was limited to only: $3/ticket, 10 Midwestern states as members ... otherwise too many way-overpopulated states, who's on-line lottery ticket buyers already dominate Powerball and Mega Millions, would be selling the top prize collecting tickets. And to the lump-sum winner (I hope it's not an annuity prize adversized), taxes will still probably be about 48% from the amount won. Thus, difficult to obtain the ideal $4M Net walk-away amount with (people forget about half tax

California nail technician wins $228M Powerball jackpot
The annuity isn't paid out in 30 equal payments. It is based on a graduated scale with the bulk of the payment amount coming towards the end. His first year payment will be roughly $2.4 million after the current top tax rate of 39.6% is factored in. His future payment will be larger initially but the tax rate may dictate what he eventually nets which may be less if the tax rate is increased. FYI, California also has a 13.3% income tax rate which has yet to be applied to lottery winnings. T
