My biggest pet peeves from lottery players--play slips
If you had put your bottle of water back on the shelf and left, maybe the owner would think he was losing business and post a sign requesting lottery players make out a play slips instead.
Before MegaMillions came to Ohio, I and other Ohioans would travel across the boarder to Indiana to play PowerBall and Michigan to play BigGame and all the places selling lottery tickets had such a sign because the lines would get long when the jackpots got high. Some places even had a box of preprinted qu

Nationwide, lottery jackpots keep getting bigger
I remember when $60 million jackpots would have people standing in long lines to buy tickets.
Now they act like $60 million is nothing.

Nationwide, lottery jackpots keep getting bigger

Nationwide, lottery jackpots keep getting bigger
Super Lotto Plus has been growing for several months. I think it is teasing me because I often feel the anxiety when lottery jackpots keep rolling over for a long time, especially when they are going over $100 millions.
I wish I could take it home.

Repeated winning numbers in jackpot, rare?
West Virgina Cash25 (6/25) has 25 numbers which makes it more likely to have winning numbers repeat. Its jackpots are $25,000 and had one played all past winning numbers up to last Friday, they would have spent $3,812,941 and won $1,982,553 which includes 16 jackpot.
Had one played the previous 10 drawings for 2752 of the 2762 drawings, they would have spent $27,520 and won $13,928. They would not have won a jackpot but they would have matched 5of6 28 times.

Many states' lottery sales are rising in recession
Allen Nevils, a 58-year-old moving company supervisor, put himself on a budget, driving less and purchasing groceries in bulk, but he still allots $20 a week to play daily lottery games. I really don't want to win that much, Nevils said. I just want to be alright.
I know that an awful lot of posts talk about winning $100M or billion dollar jackpots, but I'm sure this sentiment represents most people.

1 Billion Dollar Powerball Jackpot!
Here's the thing with big jackpots once they get to the 300 million dollar range people who never bought a ticket before buy at least one ticket, people who usually play every draw buys more tickets and casual lottery players buy more tickets, people line up at machines across the country to buy tickets from dawn till dusk every day until the pot is won.
Even with the new powerball matrix i doubt if a pot will ever grow above 500 million.

1.5 Million Powerball tickets sold on first day in Florida
Looks like they got the hype down there. See how long it will last. They are not used to jackpots as high as $105million. Definetly increased the player base by a lot. I wonder why Florida didn't join Mega Millions. Seems like a MM state to me.

CA's contribution to Mega Millions
I remember when California joining Mega Millions was big news. They advertised huge jackpots and such and we never saw it come to reality yet. But what amazes me is the fact that California is the biggest population base in the union and they still are usually out sold by New York and New Jersey when it comes to ticket sales. Why don't Californians play? I wonder how the response in Florida is going to be with them getting Powerball starting tomorrow. Will it be the same?
