Cash4Life multi-state lottery game goes daily in July
Some people have something to say while must say something
I thought the article was crystal clear when it said New York started Cash4Life with New Jersey in 2014. Since then, seven other states have joined: Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. The only thing that could be added to the article is New Jersey has a doubler option.
Wonder what will be said when the mirror game lucky for life that began in 2009 and now played in 14 states goes to ev

"Statistical Sampling" Question
What you want is called a chi-squared test. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi-squared_test
I could walk you through how to calculate the error and its statistical significance for a specific set of data, but if you are more mathematically inclined than average you can probably figure it out on your own from the wiki article and other sources. It's built-in to Excel I believe.
Edit: More specific article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearson%27s_chi-squared_test

California Lottery official dismissed amid investigations
We can find lots of lies gross exaggerations in print news, TV news, and other news sources so we shouldn't be surprised when when we see it in lottery news. The other types of news have fact checkers, but I never thought that LP would need one. There usually are debates on lottery lawsuits simply because there are two sides, but how can there be debate in a news article saying The letter didn't give a reason for the termination ?
This of course is a follow-up from a past new article and shou

Bill to allow lottery winners to remain anonymous passes Virginia Senate
I would suggest for a bit more background on the bill and one of the big pushers, people need to look at Del. Lee Ware(R) Powhatan. There was a nice article done in a local paper called the Virginian Pilot in the politics section. It came out a month ago,12-20-18. Normally, I would post a link to the site but the last time I did that, it was deleted. The article also talks about the past winner Joe Dennette from 2009 and how he gets harassed to this day, along with referring to other winners fro

Speculation begins about NJ winner of Mega Millions lottery
Why would you think that
Are you asking me why man thinks? I'm confused because usually I have a thought and then I share it. To me the sales don't matter rather it generated 20 times as many tickets a regular is a regular so I fail to understand the significance of sharing this.
If you pay attention to what the article says
I did say that the NJ lotto commission hasn't asked for the footage.....which is what the article says. Then I added my opinion which I thought was allowed he

Final 2017 MM and/or PB jackpot?
The site doesn't list that info yet. I can't post links but you can see one article at the Chicago Tribune called: One winning ticket sold for Mega Millions jackpot totaling $450 million
The article says:
The winning Mega Millions lottery numbers drawn Friday night are 28, 30, 39, 59 and 70, with a Mega Ball of 10 and a Megaplier of 3. The was one jackpot winner, according to the Mega Millions website. It did not list the state where the winning ticket was sold.

Michigan Lottery cracks down on retailers who cheat customers
One and two week suspensions are a joke. Especially for the ripped ticket incident. Also, it appears much of the information in the article was from FOIA requests. If Michigan Lottery truly valued player security, they would post the information without hiding it. As with many lotteries, oversight of retailers is lax and mostly just for show.
Don't allow lottery sellers to buy / play tickets at their own location(s). That alone would eliminate much abuse. However, most, if not all, U.S. lotte

Virginia Lottery wasn't quite ready for Mega Millions game changes
Either way, something is wrong with the article and the drawing.
I only had to look at the title of the story and figured out $1 tickets with the numbers 71 to 75 were sold. What else could Virginia Lottery wasn't quite ready for Mega Millions game changes mean?
There is nothing in the article mentioning something was wrong with the MM drawing that wasn't done in Virginia. Maybe there are a few players who think MM is a Virginia Lottery only game and one or two might not known of the cha

Russian slot machine hackers add new targets, group told
Many many years ago, my path crossed with Gus, the Umbrella Man. Gus was a thief who wd enter stores, stuff the unpaid merchandise down an umbrella he carried, and unsuccessfully walked out. Gus made the big time when there was an outage at a casino and then he won $1.7 million bucks from a slot machine. It was headline news in the SF Bay area. They were looking for Gus but when they went to his room, all they found was his pacemaker. So, then the headlines were speculation about Gus being a vic
