Would You Spend $20 On A Raffle Ticket?
I would like to clarify a point that I made about being 1 number off from winning a $100 prize. I should have written, if I had bought the very next ticket, I would have won that $100 prize in that game. It was that next ticket in sequence that won (which was 1 number off). In any event, I did not win that one. Just want to be more accurate in my statement.

Think Outside The Box
Thinking outside the box is not unique at LP. Quite a few members including myself have come up with unorthodox ways of looking at past lottery results to try predicting the next winning combinations but our guesses have been no better than those of a RNG. Anyone who thinks he can predict a random event or come up with a strategy to trap the next winning lottery numbers in a group of combinations is thinking outside the box.

Number of winners in Mega Millions last night
All but the WB 07 and MB 27 were multiples of six so maybe it was a case of a bunch of players playing some kind of number distribution pattern with gaps of 5-6 between each numbers. I couldn't find a recent event in the news with those numbers.

Do you Believe Lotteries are Random?
Perhaps there are people or syndicates that win signiifanct amounts of money often. But one main issue is that for a supposedly completely random event the outcomes are consistent, ie you you get get very few winners if at all. Take a look at the Euromillions winnings. Now at allways rolls over several weeks until the jackpot hits 60 - 80 million pounds euros etc. And then you allways have one or two winners of the jackpot. A random event with consistent result where you can predict the ou

Do you Believe Lotteries are Random?
It's possible to predict with some degree of accuracy a future random event. Its possible to look at past events to know what will happen in the future. So I dont think any lottery can be totally random.

Lottery officials confirm Chubb workers as winners of $140M Mega Millions jackpot
No, the winners waited before officially redeeming their winning ticket. Their previous big press conference was not a lottery-sponsored event, and they did it a long time before redeeming the ticket.
