Upping the matrix without adding new states is a gamble, since it usually results in players buying less tickets when the jackpot is $100 - $200 million, making it take more rolls for a record jackpot. On the one hand, that does increase the game's chances of rolling over on any given draw, but on the other hand, it has to survive more draws to get to a record. The Powerball officials just got lucky.

My vote is for PB only because PB set the new North American Jackpot record. If PB hadn't set that record, my vote would have been MM because CA has MM.

Prob988, since PB sets a new roll record in last draw, I hope it continues to roll and possibly set new records. If MM rolls, it will be 113 million for 5/19. It won't have a new roll record if MM rolls.

Jake649, I hope PB continues to roll. However, the estimated PB Jackpot stands at 114 million for 5/17 while the record is 117.6 million for a roll 9 record in a previous run.

According to my roll records, 87.7 million is the roll 7 record and 101.3 million is the roll 8 record. I hope it continues to roll Prob988.

It will be interesting to see what MM does with sales in next draw. I hope MM continues to roll. If it does, a roll 3 record may occur because of interest rates. However, gas prices may not make a roll 3 record possible in MM.

Jake649, the PB drawing for Saturday night hit 29.1 million (annunity). It didn't set a new record by .1 million for a roll 2 record, but it was very close. However, the estimated jackpot for Wednesday will be 37 million, so records won't come any time soon.

Jake649, it's strange that a new roll 1 record was established so quickly. I think it's caused by momentum of rolls and interest rates. I had wished that MM didn't set the new roll 1 record because of the high gas prices. Now I hope it continues to roll and set records.
