Scratch Tickets are NO GOOD
Thought I'd post what I saw the other day. It shocked me, but in light of recent events it made things all to clear.
First off I would like to say that I am new to this forum and I have not searched it yet, so if this topic has already been covered... well sorry.
Anyway, I live in Ontario Canada and in the last few months our provincial Lottery Corporation has been under fire for the disproportionate amount of lotto agents (the store clerk) who have won big awards from scratch ti

Man who stole winning lottery ticket gets 5 years
A judge on Friday sentenced Sam Grair to five years and four months in prison for stealing a lottery ticket worth $524,000 at the store where he worked.
Grair, 43, pleaded guilty in September to grand theft and presenting a fraudulent claim to a government agency.
Prosecutor Howard Wise said the message is this: It is a deterrent to any store clerk that is in a position of trust so they won't do the same thing.
Wise said Grair, of Camarillo, had no prior criminal history.

Ontario lottery to be investigated
The Ontario Ombudsman will investigate allegations about insiders winning a disproportionate number of lotteries to restore public trust in the province's lottery corporation.
Andr Marin said yesterday that allegations that more than 200 ticket retailers or clerks have won prizes of more than $50,000 in the past seven years have cast a large shadow over the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. and brought into question its actions.
He said he had received few complaints from lottery-tic

A sobbing lottery addict convicted of stealing $2.3 million from her employer to fund her habit screamed at the judge that prison won't cure her.
Tell me how you're helping me! Annie Donnelly of Farmingville yelled at state Supreme Court Justice Robert Doyle during her sentencing Tuesday.
Donnelly pleaded guilty last month to second-degree grand larceny in exchange for the sentence of four to 12 years in prison.
The former bookkeeper for a doctors' office admitted she stole the mon

E! Television to air 'Curse of the Lottery' Sunday
I feel bad for the guy, this is the dumbest act I have ever heard of. If he gets 5 1/2 years, hopefully he will be out in 1-2 years (likely, being a non-violent offender). It will teach him a lesson and let everyone know this type of crime is unacceptable. After all, isn't this grand, grand, grand larseny.
Why isn't this grand larceny? Interesting that so many people are feeling sorry for a thief. It's also puzzling that some members here don't think it's as serious as stealing a ca

A look back at the North Carolina lottery in 2005
After a more than 20-year battle, lawmakers needed a tie-breaker to finally pass their lottery bill. When they got it, opponents quickly cried out. I think we have one senator at home recently being hospitalized in bed we have another one who is on his honeymoon because he postponed it, said N.C. Sen. Andrew Brock, R-Davie.But N.C. Gov. Mike Easley, a long time lottery supporter, praised the new state game. Today I sign the North Carolina Education Lottery Bill and today we begin building one N

$$$70,000 CASH with no gamble!!!!!I found this on some message boards and I decided to give it a trial. I believe this is more productive than lottery, so why not give it a shot. If you make enough money and do not need the money, why not give your proceeds to charity, your alma mater, your relations that need help, or even use it to prepare towards college funds for your little girl or boy.
