Probability of a rollover in PB and MM
Quote: Originally posted by prob987 on February 01, 2004 The powerball has rolled over again, with the jackpot for 2/4/04 being $85 million, an annuity increase of $11 million dollars. The probability that the jackpot will roll again next Wednesday is 87%. The probability of there being one winner is about 12%. The probability of two winners is roughly 1% and the probability of 3 winners is 0.04%. Don't you mean that the probability was for the drawing that has just passed? I mean, the ticke

Pennsylvania Midday Investigation
I'm not saying the Pennsylvania Pick 3 Midday Drawing's are fixed but I would like to find out why there is a 30 minute cut-off.The actual simulated drawing is 1:35 PM but the cut-off time is 1:05 pm for the last ticket sold. The evening drawing I believe has a 5 minute cut-off.I would like to see a live drawing at 1:35 with real machines and real people.I would also like to see what the total amount paid out like the state of Georgia.I would also like to see an independent outside agency investi

theory awaiting for a confirmation
Quote: Originally posted by neorage on January 25, 2004 DreamLotto, just a thought:I always got the impression (at least from my local lottery) that numbers that were picked in the last drawing were not likely to reappear in the very next drawing. Also, choosing numbers that have been very hot (appearing a lot recently) and ones that are very cold (numbers that are due ) each makes sense in their own right... except that those criteria are on opposite extremes. The larger the game, the le

Jack Whittaker in trouble with law!
...but on a more serious note, on the evening of December 25th, 2002, I remember buying my tickets for the drawing. Am I sad that a portion of the four dollars that I spent on that drawing went to Jack Whittaker?...not really. I took a chance that evening, just as I do for every Powerball drawing. I don't know what the future PB jackpot winners will be like or how they will spend my dollar contributions. I simply continue my part (feeding the jackpot pool) thinking that someday maybe it'll be my

Multi-state jackpots could bring holiday cheer
Just in time for the holidays, the nation's two multi-state lottery games have jackpots that have grown to thresholds that usually produce frenzied buying. The Mega Millions game, played in eleven states, now has a jackpot of $100 million dollars for Tuesday night's drawing. The Powerball game, played in 24 states, Washington D.C., and the Virgin Islands, is now sporting a top prize of $137 million dollars for Wednesday's drawing. If all this seems eerily familiar, that may be because last December

Pennsylvania Cash3ology Stats
Hi Hypersonig,Maybe it is used as a reference only. To see if there may be a possible pattern developing. You and I both play in Pennsylvania. I am interested in how they draw theMidday numbers. All I see is an animated drawing. Do they actually use the same machines as the evening draws and some how show the animated delivery of the 3 numbers.I would like to know the reasoning for why they do the Midday drawing like this. Why dont they have the same type of drawing as the evening?? Is it a
