Another thing I forgot to mention is that just because the annuity amount of the jackpot isn't increased the first roll, doesn't mean that the cash amount didn't increase. They probably draw for $1M the first 2 draws because $1M has pretty much become known as the minimum jackpot(annuity) for Pick 6 games. Instead of offering say $750K the first draw and $1M the second draw, they want to offer players at least $1M(annuity) for a Pick 6 game.

Opponents of lottery say 'I told you so'
As far as NC., OK. goes, if they add P4 with P3 twice a day with televised live (in addition, make it available on the internet with a certification within minutes so people can view at their leisure) start to finish drawings, they would get the volume they need, along with greater customer satisfaction. Give the people what they want, make them trust you completely, and your sales will increase. The pie analogy is right on.

Opponents of lottery say 'I told you so'
This is what we are dealing with at the Oklahoma Lottery. Legislators think if we increase prize payout we are decreasing money to education...we are decreasing the percentage yes, but would be taking from a much bigger pie. They don't get it. And what are they talking about in NC, saying it is a kind of tax? If taxes are optional I'm not paying mine anymore!

Opponents of lottery say 'I told you so'
Tom Shaheen, executive director of the NCEL, got a salary increase of almost $6,000 a few months ago, bringing his total salary to nearly $250,000, almost twice what the governor makes! What a head-scratcher: Only in government can somebody who missed his goals by 20 percent get a pat on the back and a bigger paycheck.

Televised Fla Drawings?
OK Sorta what I thought, but have been suspicious as per the CASH 3 numbers that have been coming out this and last month, too many doubles...raises questions as to if this is normal whatever normal is.. just didn't seem right ....I think they are using computers for cash 3 and 4 and just not telling anyone. Very easy to cheat the players by leaving out several numbers during play, or setting computer the throw more doubles than normal... this would definitely increase their richs....Guess the

Tennessee Lottery players unanimous in their discontent with drawings
Since the money generated by the lottery goes to the education board
And it's the lottery director's job to get more money into the education fund each year. This can be done by running promotions to entice more play and increase revenues or by finding ways to lower operating expenses. Tennessee chose to cut cost by changing to RNG drawings.
Even without the drawing fiasco this was a bad business decision because the online games affected only amount to 11% of sales and that is an area

MegaMillions rolls to $325M
It's all about the frenzy. PowerBall went from $245 to $314M when it was advertised as $300M. That's a $69M increase. The fact is, the bigger the advertised number, the bigger the frenzy, which will result in a higher jackpot than the one advertised. I think Mega Millions will be at $350M by Friday. If nobody wins that, the advertised jackpot after that will be at least $420M, but given the huge frenzy there will be, it will make it to $450M.

Don't ever post your e-mail address on a public web site! There are computer programs constantly scanning forums and other web sites looking for e-mail addresses to harvest. Then they get added to spam lists and sold a thousand times. Posting your e-mail address on a web site is a sure-fire way to increase your spam intake 10 times.

Engineer reported bad Tenn. Lottery computerized draws
Good point, and good for you. I'm glad that this issue is making people stand up and take notice. It is upsetting to think that any lottery could get away with this by temporarily offering up a mere 20% prize increase. Then, it's back to business as usual. Maybe if enough people hold on to their money they will be force to do something mroe radical. Perhaps maybe even to listen to the players, who almost universally hate computerized drawings.

Powerball & Megamillions Growing
Those of us who understand how it works are looking at the cap on the increase. The most it can go up is $25 million above the previous record, so therefore 390 is the highest it can go on the first roll that is more than the current record of $365 million. I know it's a challenging concept, but if it rolls to 375 and then goes to 400, the 400 will be the 2nd jackpot that exceeds the current record. It has been pointed out that it could be less than 390, but past sales suggest that's unlikely g
