Old People Always Win
You seem to know the probabilities; if the majority of players are older, the older players should win the win the majority of jackpots. How do those probabilities improve odds for the players in that demographics?
Do you really believe the odds favor a 66 year-old winning the jackpot after they and a 22 year-old both buy $5 worth of QPs?

Scratcher tricks to success
Thanks for the luck! Yes, the $20 are costly, I buy one at a time, and like you, I stick to the $5 and $10 tickets, though the 10 are my favorites, I tend to buy two at a time.
Someone in my State won the 4 mil on the 20 ticket, so that leaves just two of the 4 mil jackpots, but I'll take a million!

Mega Million Lottery Group
This kind of pool has been suggested before and the problems were the same as getting 50 people who work together and see each other every day to join one not to mention the additional problems of sending money to someone you've never met or know. Even among people who see each other every day, pool fever only exists when the jackpots get big and the rest of the time they have little or no interest at all. Besides $20 per week for 50 members is a $50,000+ per year business and I don't see that h

N.J. mom-and-pop lottery retailers worried about competition
I tend to support the same. The problem, as some one mentioned in ,the state of Oklahoma, is that Mom Pop cannot support anything larger then $5 and $10 winnings. Then they immediately revert to checks; which can take a month, or more, to receive. YOU must pay cash, so they immediately have the money in the drawer, but YOU must also wait until their accountant gets around to writing the monthly checks. How more Government can you get? Going to Mom Pop, to buy a ticker, is convenient. Going to a

N.J. mom-and-pop lottery retailers worried about competition
I concur 110% with Rjoh's statement. Mom and Pop shops neednt fear, sharing is the goal.
I commend the state for seeing an opportunity to expand and reach more players. More players means more revenue. More revenue means possibly higher jackpots.

I wouldn't bother playing a lottery every week...
Correction: Most jackpots are won before reaching $250 millions.
If you wait for the jackpot to reach that amount before buying a ticket, you'll probably only be buy a ticket once or twice a year.
