S. Jersey couple claims $87 million share of jackpot
A Cape May County, New Jersey, couple who won half of a record $390 million lottery jackpot claimed their prize yesterday, almost two weeks after the drawing. Elaine and Harold Barry Messner hid their secret until yesterday and appeared to have carefully planned for the moment. But there would be no giant check and smiling for cameras for the Messners. They would entertain no questions about just how delicious it must feel to win that many millions or exactly how they planned to spend th

Wonder where the other half of 390 mill is?
Hey Littlemanjen.. Tongue was planted firmly in cheek ... Of course I don't know the man and have no idea what he did or didn't do with the exception of claiming the money in record time. Ain't just sounds better that isn't sometimes...it has a better impact. Perhaps we all should just agree to disagree and be done with this thread. What we say and do is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. Have a great day !

I am going to try to change the rules about annonymity...
True, but there are some loopholes that will allow for some anomymity. Many states do allow winners to claim their prizes using a trust or a corporation. Although this isn't completely anonymous, it does provide for some anomymity in that it will take more effort to find the winner's name than just looking in the newspaper. I wonder if using a corporation from somewhere like Nevada or New Mexico, which do not require the officers in a corporation be part of public record, to claim a lotte

Realities of winning the lottery
In your opening line, you note that The odds of winning the record $370+ million Mega Millions jackpot is greater than 170 million to one. To perhaps put it in better perspective, the amount of the pot doesn't really matter. One's odds of winning ANY MegaMillion jackpot will be in excess of 170 million to one. The only time anyone wants to face or admit that reality is when the jack pot is super-sized. The odds doesn't change just because of the size of the jackpot, only the value chang

Why it is important to remain anonymous
I feel the same way about anonymity after a lottery win that I do about my own privacy now. It's none of anyone's business how I earn my money, as long as it's legal and I pay my taxes. The toughest thing for me would be living a simple life and buying a home, being part of a community, etc. without my neighbors learning of my good fortune. I have no desire to live in an expensive home or upscale neighborhood. BTW, a man on Marco Island (very close to where I live) won $14 million and stayed

Match 6 $4,950,000 CASH!
I just can't figure out why NO other poster lists their particular state's jackpot game here... SUCH an obsession with a really lousy lottery game, brought to you by the people who love to rip you off! For the record, no need to contact the PA lottery bec. they read my posts here every day. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't following me! :-)

anyone thought of this:ScratchOffs Syndicate
I was reading this article about lottery winners sharing their secrets: http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/10913133/detail.html# And it had me thinking, I don't think anyone has thought of this..Why don't they do Scratch-Offs Sindicate/grouping...I think they would be better off instead of going after 170 million combinations/odds like Powerball MegaMillions..If you read the article they tell you that some rolls cost 300 dollars..If you divide 300 dollars between 20 or 30 persons it b
