Restaurant workers split $4 million lottery jackpot
We (my wife I) buy one Megamillions in Illinois on Tuesday one on Friday (quick picks). We also buy one Powerball ticket on Wednesday one on Saturday (we've been playing the same numbers for years). My wife also buys one Hot Lotto for each drawing on Wednesday Saturday (quick pick). It doesn't matter what size the jackpots are,we only buy one ticket per drawing. My wife sometimes kicks in to a pool at work when the jackpot reaches 100 million dollars, but there are only 5 people in the pool.T

Colorado chalks up its first Powerball winner
YES! It's more fun to play when the jackpots are large, period. Everyone knows this, and if they deny it, they are lying. Why do you think so many more people play a 300 million dollar jackpot than a 20 million dollar pot? I live in NY, my local lotto is typically around that, so if I want that kind of jackpot, I'll play the NY Lotto and get 2 picks for a dollar. I want the mega millions and powerball to be exciting, and that happens when the pots reachj at least 50 million. If the odds are slim

Powerball Won Again?!?!
Actually, it's really only about $14.5 million because the $15 million is a graduated annuity. They have to dig into their set prize reserve and it comes out of future nonguaranteed jackpots, just as greater-than-expected fixed prize awards do.
As for the Powerball jackpot being won three draws in a row, it already happened before around this time last year as well, and that followed a string of seven $100+ million annuity jackpot runs.

Opponents of lottery say 'I told you so'
Just start LOTTO USA (original name of Powerball by the way) and have it run by a group of people that know what they're doing, with no vested intererests.
Do't make empty promises about over- inflated bucks for education, have more jackpots- maybe a red game / green game for $2 (second jackpot drawing like red / green Keno) and more generous 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

In the ongoing quick picks discussions...
PowerBall was concerned when all those folks matched 5/5+0 for $200K using numbers they got from a fortune cookie. Lotteries know if players can improve their odds of winning any prize, they also will improve their odds of winning the jackpots too.
Fixed payouts for the lower prizes are based on anticipated results. If those results cost more than anticipated, it's likely the game will be changed or discontinued.

Jackpots
to see who's right
So this poll has nothing to do with scientifically projecting the probabilities of any of these jackpots rolling but just another guessing game?

New to Lotto - Spending Birthday Money $100
Last year we visited our kids in Oregon and i had checked out the casinos on the net before we went. Found one about 60 mins from Eugene and asked if anyone else wanted to go they declined so i said see you all in about 8 hrs. Well i won $2500.00 cash no jackpots just kept winning on a sizzling sevens multi denom machine. The powerball was over 2 hundred and fifty mill so i bought 100 quick picks. Results were not one winner, but was still up $2400.00. By the way only took $150.00 to the ca

Mega Millions Won :-(
Yes I agree. We can't go with longer odds....what we need is a higher ticket price. $2 and maybe odds of 1 in 100 million. I think that might help out to bring about the jackpots that they once promised.

Single winner in $314M Powerball lottery drawing
3> They got lucky and won the PB $314M jackpot so why not try for the MM $330 jackpot while they're on a roll and collect both jackpots later.
Hell ya. Hell, if I won $314M on PowerBall I'd probably spend $1000 on Mega Millions tickets for a shot at another $330M.

Lotto
But but.....Guru believes the jackpots will roll but on another thread you said I hope the MM jackpot will be hit .
You would make an excellent politician. Every thought about running for a public office?
