All states Lottery...tax free
Because these countries aren't run by idiots. Or at least idiots to a lesser degree. It's not a matter of afford/ not afford it's a matter of common sense. They realize that there are many different options for people to gamble on and offering tax free winnings makes state sponsored games very attractive. Also tickets not cashed in go to the players in the form of bonus rounds or bigger jackpots. Government officials in the US are too stupid and greedy to do this as well.

Lottery winner followed careful spending plan
Sounds like he haves his stuff together, I was just watching THS (The curse of the lottery) and I watched how David Edwards who won the powerball in 2002 let the money change him. What people don't seem to understand is that you do not need expensive automobiles and a big house to prove your worth. Will Smith who is an actor and multi-millionaire had a very intresting quote his father told him. It's nice to have 50 cars, But you sure don't need them because you can only drive one at a time! To

Record Jackpots excluding current Mega
Powerball should not be able to hold the title of the highest jackpot in US lottery history . The comparison between different jackpots should always be made according to the cash value. Tomorrow, Powerball will offer their annuity paid out in 40 years and will have a record jackpot of $500 million. Would that really be the highest jackpot of all time? P.S. Their $340 million jackpot barely made the top 10.

Washington Lottery's Quinto game to end in March
While I never won 2nd place in Quinto you can bet you won't be seeing a 2.4 million pot with the new game. I agree that lotto is just too lame. The Canadian 6/49 game has great jackpots on occation but the WA state lotto is just a joke. I think the hit 5/39 game will rarely if ever make it to $1 million. Personally I hope the gold ball does come back but with the current leadership in Olympia you can forget any good ideas like that.

Lottery results cell phone service is first of its kind
Considering the number of lotteries covered it is revolutionary. The Norwegian lottery doesn't exactly get people outside of Norway that excited like Euromillions. I just hope a top twenty list of current jackpots can be part of the already very good mobile site. Just go to www.lotterypost.com with pocket internet explorer to see it.

did you quit playing when.....
I play any game I can have a chance to come away with at least $1M in cash after taxes. I usually will buy a couple more tickets when the MM, PB, or state lotto jackpots are higher, but I figure that even if I happen to win when MM is at $12M (or $7M cash value), that is still $7M more than I had to begin with. The one thing that I don't get are the people who enter into 20+ lottery pools...like the Sargentos factory workers who each took home less than $1M from an annuitized jackpot of over $

Weekend gifts!
I can't see anyone getting a negative vibe here unless they have been loosing at Mega. I really appriciate your hard work. Only feature I was hoping for was a list of the current jackpots (like the top 20 or 30) for the mobile website.

Starting The New Year With A $300,000,000
While I would love a large jackpot to try my luck on I'm always a pessimist on jackpots getting large especially with Mega. Since 2004 Mega has gotten to the current level or close seven times. It rolled to the next level three times and only broke the third roll once to 315. If it can roll on the 27th ,which I doubt, then I really think this run can break 300 or higher.

strike the lotto
From what I've read many of the larger jackpot winners own their own businesses which makes me think that the mix of people playing the lotteries change as the jackpots get larger Right the mix does change.. The uned feel they don't have that great of a chance when the Amount has increased..

strike the lotto
For people who only play when the jackpot gets over $150M, this is true. The less people playing the better the chance of a jackpot roll over which allows them more chances to play at that level. They are not uned , they just want the best return on their gambling dollars if they get lucky. From what I've read many of the larger jackpot winners own their own businesses which makes me think that the mix of people playing the lotteries change as the jackpots get larger.
