What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Your answers are so cavalier sounding...lol Of course i would also want to win the 10,000 bucks but it would be much harder to beat than the measley 50 to 1. Wouldn't you want to beat 50 to 1 even If it wasn't the 50 to 1 payoff, say 25 bucks for a dollar bet on a regular basis. Because deep down, once you find a way to beat it on a regular basis, then you only have to repeat the process. Unlike trying to beat the JP, you have to have a miracle.... Maybe you're right Rjoh. Maybe trying to

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Rjoh said.... That's the reason I've only tried developing a winning system for the pick5 and jackpot games. How can you attempt beating a Pick-5 game with hundreds of thousands of possibilities, when the most logical plan would be to first try beating a 1000 to 1 odds with the P-3?........ You have to crawl before you walk you know.... In Florida it's about 376,000 to 1 for the Fantasy Five. About 376 times harder than the P-3......Is the microphone working?....lol Not to men

Richard Lustig on TV
RJOH, Granted the odds on scratchers are in the 1:5 range but there's no lock in buying ten and getting a winner. It just doesn't work that way. The winners may come once in every five or ten tickets, but more likely maybe two or three in a row out of thirty tickets and then another dry spell. In the long run it works out to 1:5, sure, but that doesn't guarantee or two winners out of every ten. People get slaughtered on dice tables trying to apply that kind of approach to betting 2 or 1

What software does a novice need to learn to write and run math analysis programs?
Thanks RJOH: You're a master of understatement. EXCEL is great for a lot of things and learning to do anything on it has always been a time-consuming labor for me. It's possible a lot of what I want to do that I don't believe EXCEL is capable of could be done using a db system, but I'm afraid it would be trading a headache for an upset stomach. But a lot of the problem for me with EXCEL is that it's a memory hog and I find with the large files I work with I run out of RAM before I run out of

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
Did yours come with the little book/folder for your OS floppies. Not positive...I've had more of those book/folder things than I can remember. My original computer(s) was a Timex 2KB with the 14KB module. I had to buy more than one. It had a membrane keyboard and I kept wearing them out. I believe I still have a working one somewhere. The monitor was any TV that was handy and you did use cassette tapes for the storage device. RJOH GW BASIC was what I used as well. I compiled

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RJOh I am still working on it and would like to know if I can pick your mind from time to time. I sometimes have to wait a couple weeks on the data to show using my program and want to try and come up with a method that would allow me to play more often. Thanks RL

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RJOh I think you are correct, The best we can hope for is for someone to just post a filter or other idea that may help or give someone another idea to test or add to what they are using, kind of a tips and tricks post. RL

Lottery results database.
RJOh, Good tip. I have lotto pro. The program itself doesn't export lottery results. I took a text editor to the database files and they are indeed readable. But I have to figure out a script to parse it the right way. Thanks for all the help guys. I still think LP should offer a downloadable link to a CSV for each file. At the bottom of each results history page. :p Just my opinion though. Raven, Okay. :p I've been copy and pasting the results into excel for a while now. It's just mor

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
RJOH, You hit the nail on the head shooting from the hip! Kudos! Monte Carlo simluations are not designed to test the likelihood of past events. Monte Carlo Simulations test the the life of your washing machine, the possibility of earthquake, the breakdown temperature of the oil in your vehicle, the potential for radiation contamination when your nuclear reactor fails, future valuations on investment portfolios, the growth potential for business, etc. It does so reasonably well using

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
If only I could be so lucky, RJoh. I will say that once in a while, using the Expert Lotto 'winning number history' filters, I can poduce a set of 200 to 500 combinations that hold a couple of 4/5 winners and several 3/5 winners. Like you, it's a matter of having the money to buy those tickets. In January I was lucky enough to pick 10 lines and win 1-4/5, 2-3/5 and 2-2/5 combinations. Recently I had 3 4/5 combinations out of 400 lines, but didn't buy any of the tickets. But most times, I dont
