Powerball Sets a New Record
The current Powerball jackpot run has exceeded $100 million. This is a record 6th consecutive jackpot run that exceeded $100 million. Previously, the largest number of consecutive jackpot runs for Powerball was 2.
The Mega Millions lottery is experiencing a string of low jackpots. But Mega Millions holds the overall record of 7 consecutive jackpot runs over $100 million. Interesting to note that 4 of the jackpot runs were achieved under the old Mega Millions matrix.

Changes in Mega Millions
That's easy to answer. Money. Games that have big prizes have big sales to match. While having lower prizes won is nice a mix between high and low jackpots would be ideal. States are loosing money or are making far less than a game that has a jackpot run once in a while. It's also the reason I'm sure the participating states will have to change MM at this point. Powerball went through the exact same problem a while ago and they changed the odds. It looks like it will be MM's turn this time.

Proposition..LOtteryDNA
Not only that, but if you lowered the price to 16.00, there should be more people/customers subscribing to your service and this in turn will make more people buy more combinations/tickets thus covering more grounds and as a result giving you more winners[assuming you gave people different numbers, and not all numbers to a group because they couldn't afford it]...This is assuming it was only for games with jackpots and not pick3 pick4...
..Major, i only saw one of them camouflaged

MM's low sales
The St Louis Post-Dispatch ran a story that predicted possible $500,000,000 jackpots when California joined Mega Millions.
Of course that story didn't say a thing about an expanded matrix.

what would happen if...............
Pac,
Actually, I have now taken control of all aspects of this site. I no longer contract with any outside companies for anything, including results and jackpots.

what would happen if...............
Every day someone has to update all those results, post the jackpots, analyse the predictions and results against one another and post the updates for the Yesterday Winners and Top Predictors
I think most of what you are talking about is being run by outside sources. Todd is like the pilot of a plane. He hits the cruise control, and just sits back and makes sure the auto pilot is doing it's job. Maybe...I don't know for sure.

If you wanted to bet $300 in MM, what would be the smartest method?
The smartest method for betting $300 in the lottery is to bet that you'd lose most of the money, and just keep it instead of losing it. The best method of betting $300 doesn't have any simple answers. Betting all $300 on one draw gives you a better chance of hitting the jackpot than betting $10 30 times, but the latter offers a (very slim) possibility of winning 30 jackpots. Betting $10 for 30 consecutive draws might mean an average advertised jackpot of about $75 million for the 30 draws, but

$90 Million: California lottery jackpot raised again
Quote: Originally posted by RJOh on June 27, 2006Being able to generate state lottery jackpots that size, one has to wonder why California joined the multi-state game MegaMillions. MegaMillions sales are probably going to be down until its state lottery jackpot is won.
The SLP may have generated a jackpot this size, but it took twenty-one consecutive draws with no winner to get here. Mega Millions needs only six draws with no winner to get this high.

I hope a Non-Californian wins the jackpot.
Ehhh.. Sorry for ranting.
California is new at Mega Millions and they've been winning the Jackpot alot. Their are many other states that rarely win Jackpots like South and North Dakota

Powerball cash option
The cash option has been like this ever since PB went to 5/55 + 1/42, because they restructured the annuity so payments increase each year. Therefore, they can get a higher annuity than they could under the equal payments method from the same cash amount. The cash value has not decreased; the annuity has simply increased. However, it is also true that less than 30.28855% of sales is going to the cash jackpot, because the states can deduct up to 2% of sales for the cash reserve to pay the set
