Would you join online lottery group?
This. An online group that involved people I didn't know and trust in real life? No. A group of people that I mostly associated with online, but we also met and knew each other in real life? Maybe. (I have 2 forums I've belonged to for years - one for alumni of my university and one is a mom's group. Even though I initially met most of those people online, I might feel like I knew them well enough to chip in a couple of dollars towards a pool.)

Powerball multi-state lottery to raise prices, jackpots
Floyd's statement wasn't that most of the people who won a jackpot in 2011 had belonged to a group, his statement was that 2/3 of the 2011 jackpot wins were group wins. You really are a moron, arent you? Maybe you were late to the 1989 world series and a freeway fell on your head? I've got no confidence that you could go back and find the post you didn't understand, so here it is again. If you print it out and take it down to the elementary school during recess maybe a 5th grader will be ni

Ask for a Fat one!
I was in Spain for Christmas and witnessed the success of the 'El Gordo' lottery. I also participated but did not win, but it was fun. The Spanish Christmas Lottery, known as 'El Gordo' in Spanish (or 'The Fat One'), has the biggest prize pool of any lottery in the world. It is a national lottery game organized every year since 1812. Because of the unique way El Gordo is played (the expensive tickets are broken down into 10 smaller tickets), it can be quite sociable to play the Spanish Christmas

New York hit the Jackpot again...WTF!!
It's simple factors. A) NY has a huge population = more ticket sales = more chances B) It's a huge welfare state. People cash their check from some kind of assistance and don't hesitate to throw $50 into the lottery.... I see it in the local bodega and dollar stores where I work all the time. But hey who knows. If someone were to start a corporation or LLC with 50 investors, and it's purpose was to hit the lottery when it's over $50 Million, it's kind of like a lottery pool, but I'm sure

America should have a 'The Fat One'
The Spanish Christmas Lottery, known as 'El Gordo' in Spanish (or 'The Fat One'), has the biggest prize pool of any lottery in the world. It is a national lottery game organized every year since 1812. Because of the unique way El Gordo is played (the expensive tickets are broken down into 10 smaller tickets), it can be quite sociable to play the Spanish Christmas Lottery. I would like to see US State Lotteries organize a such a Christmas lottery in 2012. It would be fun and raise additiona

Number of tickets in any scratchers game in CA?
The total pool of tickets is normally fixed, but sometimes they do re-orders of some games. Like the $5 Set for Life game originally was ordered with 30,000,000 tickets, but then they re-ordered another 9.8 million. The published odds are still the same and does not change for any particular game. But that does not necessarily mean that all of those tickets are out there in stores or will ever be completely distributed to stores.

$254M Ct. Powerball jackpot claimed by 3 asset managers
Thank God they didn't get into a pool. One ticket is all it takes. Single players win waaaaaaaaay more often than pools which hardly ever win. So I agree with you, no pools.
