Playing lottery alone?
Before I retired I figured my co-workers showed up for the same reason I did, to collect a pay check, not because they wanted to work with me. If they had a lottery pool or a social group that was limited to just their friends, it was fine with me. Actually there was several lottery pools around work, some just when the jackpots got big and others a group of friends that play every draw regardless of the jackpot size. I'm sure if any one of them had won a jackpot everyone else would have felt

Lotto Silver
Lotto Silver seems to be geared towards games with fixed prizes and pari-mutuel jackpots. FL has pari-mutuel lower-tier prizes. That also probably would rule out PA Unlucky for Life.
AFAIK The Pick (weird name) has fixed lower-tier prizes.

Powerball Sets A New Record
Quote: Originally posted by Uncle Jim on March 9, 2006It seems like Powerball is setting a new record for setting the most new records.
I really dislike this new matrix. It seems to me aside from the occasional jackpot winner, fewer people are winning less money. I know for a fact I am. Powerball is doing a great job. A great job screwing the players with their ridiculous odds and bogus jackpot amounts.
Take a game...inflate the advertised jackpot amount so the unknowing will flock to

How many draws of PB and MM
Last time, it took Powerball 17 rollovers to get to $300 million. However, if the jackpots keep jumping the way they are, it may take Powerball only 15 or 16 rolls, but of course, it's less likely it will make it there.
The last time Mega Millions made it over $300 million, it took only 16 rolls, but it may get there in as soon as 14 rolls if that jackpot keeps increasing the way it does. However, again, it's less likely it will make it there.

Would you still play after winning?
No, isn't that what they want? for people to choose annual payments?
They changed the matrix because 3 people were winning $30 million jackpots.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
There is a chance that if Powerball sets a new record jackpot, it will land between $365 million and $390 million, in which case there's no match 5 bonus pool, but the cap increases.
What I do not understand is why sales increase on runs following very large jackpots. All those rollovers just show how hard the game is to win. You'd think sales would increase on runs following smaller jackpot wins, but as evidenced by last year, that is not the case - after Powerball's lucky string of eight

should i stop playing or keep playing
Do what I did, create a lottery budget and stick with it. Try to stick to one game for awhile at a time if you can also. Save $40 or so at the most for one entire month, then play it all at once one time for one draw, or divide it up between 8 draws at 5 plays each. $2.00 games really chew up the account. I used to go over my budget all the time when the powerball jackpots became record breakers, but not anymore. All the losses began to bore me thankfully.

Texas lottery players want to get rid of 'bonus ball'
It was until May 2002 when Lotto Texas introduced the bonus ball because they think more people would play and get big jackpots. Lotto Texas with a bonus ball had 37 rolls at one time and had a $145 million jackpot one time. I wish that Lotto Texas goes back to a 6 number format, but increase the odds of winning the jackpot only. I think Lotto Texas should either had kept the 6 number format when they had joined Mega Millions. When will Lotto Texas take out the bonus ball and go back to 6 number
