After a big multi-million win how long would you wait to come forward?
I voted to wait for the attention to die down. There will always be another news story to help fade peoples memories. That would give you time to talk to all the people you need to. Changing your address to get an updated Drivers Licence for the id required to claim your winnings seems to me a wise step. Find a temporary place to receive mail in a different city and get a new one. Once you claim your prize it will be THAT city released to the press with your name. It would certainly cut down t

There you are..
If 12 or 10 million isn't enough. let me know...

Might be a good time to play those 6's in Delaware.

Episodes of Jackpot Diaries on A&E this weekend!!
Re: the Roby, Texas winners. There were 43 people that split a $63 million dollar jackpot. Maybe at the time Texas didn't offer cash option, or maybe they all agreed on annuity, but the narrator said it came to $39,000 a year for the new millionaires.
With current prices that's not really that much.Sure it's nice to have it coming in extra, but still. Since most people today might earn that in their lifetime, was the 'mew millonaires' just hype?
Also, at least one of them sold hisr annuit

Mom finds $10, buys $1M lottery ticket
Firstly lets clarify that maxing out ones credit cards doesnt make THEM bad credit cards. She extended her finances beyond her means.
Ive walked in this ladies shoes and I can assure anyone here that when you been down that low, you really do come out of it valueing and respecting the dollar more. She has children and will learn to budget accordingly. She did welll to chose the annuity payout.
Im not a fan of a store employee buying tickets whilst on the job, its like a bartender dr

Mass. Lottery's new raffle game to offer $20M top prize
The new sweepstakes, in contrast to most other Lottery products, will offer a lump-sum cash payout, rather than annuity payments stretched out over several years.
Hmmm...a $20 million first prize is nice, 10 $1 million prizes even nicer, but I think the thing that will have the most impact on Massachusett's lottery sales with this game is the lump-sum cash payout! That rocks especially for the lucky soul who wins the $20 million grand prize. Me thinks I might have to plan a special tri

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
tnlotto1...here is information form the CDARS (sounds like the plural of the tree cedar) website.
CDARS is the Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service . And it's the most convenient way to enjoy full FDIC insurance on deposits of up to $30 million. With CDARS, you sign one agreement with a participating local bank or other financial institution of your choice, earn one interest rate, and receive one regular statement.
Basically as you can see CDARS is a fina

NJ lottery winner has 2 weeks to claim $19M jackpot
This he/she got frustrated and took a break from LP or changed his user ID. Funny thing is that all the discussions about it changed my mind and convinced me to take the annuity if I ever win several million! LOL
I used to post all the time about how these stories aggravate the heck out of me, but I don't care any more. It doesn't have any effect on my bank account, so I just hope the person who bought the ticket realizes he/she has it and comes forward in time.

Ohio's Classic Lotto 03/14/07
I believe they discontinued Super Lotto Plus because sales dropped when they joined Mega Millions. Lot O' Play was a different type of game they hoped would appeal to the Bingo instant scratch-off players and it even had the instant win feature. $2 online tickets have never worked in Ohio so they had to come up with something else.
Classic Lotto's jackpot is a 30 year annuity so it's hard to say if it will ever take off because it still has to compete with Rolling Cash 5 and the Midday draws.

Grandma's lottery ticket detour pays off
you can always bequeath your annuity payment.
The prize she won pays $1000 a week for life. There is nothing for her to pass on to somebody in this case. Unless the younger boyfriend has some significant health issues it probably says something about their relationship or their smarts that she claimed the prize instead of the boyfriend. If I had a girlfriend who was 20 years younger than me and I bought a ticket that won a prize that pays until death she'd be the winner. Of course that woul
