Dealing with your family when you won.
I have a 32 page document that has everything planned out. I have the tax, accounting, and financial institutions listed with bio's on those whom I would contact. I have a list of every family and friend who would receive monetary gifts. I have retirements, investments, insurance planned out. I have my passion gifts listed, where I would purchase them from, etc. I have worked on this document for a long time, and I update it at least twice a week, depending on MM or PB jackpots. I'm fortuna

Mega Millions Sets A New Record
We are seeing larger increases a lot now. I mean it isn't even going to take 5 weeks to reach the $100 mark. Even sales are getting faster. If you look at this run compared to last run we are two draws ahead already. Last run we didn't sell over $20 million until the $70+ million draw and on this one we sold over $20 million on the $50+ million draw. Predictions for next jackpots: $65, $80, $98, $115, $140These should be close as long as sales remain as they are.Brad

Powerball Jackpot Grows to $180 Million
Everyone seems so focused on hitting a new record, like rooting for a sports team. I sort of understand it, but I really don't feel that same burning need to set a record. I guess I just don't tie myself emotionally to having the state lottery jackpot reach new record levels. If it happens, it happens. If not, I'm happy with big jackpots as they are.For me, I just like the jackpot to get over $100 million, and then I'll play again and again. On average, I'll probably play once per week when

Easy-Win Concepts
You make it sound like some states want to give more money to their players. States change games because they want to give more money to themselves. Either some players are winning more than predicted or players have gotten tired of losing and are playing less. Either way the states are making less money. Ohio came up with Lot'O Play which has 12 ways to win but the player can only pick one and the other eleven are picked automatically. Obviously the state thinks the out comes are more profi

Texas Lottery jackpot game tickets in sales decline
Lotteries all over the US with falling revenues could learn much by your statements!!!I used to send money or trade tickets with my cousin in Texas when the matrix was 6/49 but she and I both gave up when they raised it ... she also told me that many people she knew were ceasing to buy tickets due to Texas Lottery greed. The key to game participation is not ratchetting the matrix up. We have two major lotteries in the US with jackpots high enough to satisfy $$$$$$$ chasers who don't get off the d

Lotto South coming to an end??
IMHO, Georgia was better off with Lotto Georgia. The payouts and jackpots were similar to LS, despite the easier matrix. It was just a better game, and I think thats the consensus among Georgia players judging by sales.Lotto Virginia is pretty much the same as Lotto South (except one got a 6th QP for every 5 plays), so no lamenting there.Lotto South was a definate improvement on Lotto Kentucky, which never had a 3/6 prize. So they were right in replacing it with LS. I just hope that Win For Life

Lotto South coming to an end??
I don't think Lotto South can compete head to head with the two biggies. Lotto South wants to keep one of its drawings on Fridays or Saturdays for the heavier weekend sales. Perhaps they need to go to three days a week to Monday, Thursday, and Saturdays. This would avoid direct competition with one of the biggies twice a week. One of PB or MM is likely to have lower jackpots at any given time. Question is will North Carolina go with Powerball or Mega Millions, which may drive their decision whet

Did Hot Lotto begin five years too late?
Hot Lotto was a half-baked idea, period. It has the same draw nights as Powerball, and have the same play style as Powerball. The only difference is Powerball has much bigger jackpots. The casual player, which makes up the vast majority of players, only cares about the top prize, so they'll only be playing PB. There's no real incentive to play Hot Lotto as long as it competes directly with Powerball. So MUSL, do us all a favor, put your thinking caps on, and come up with something different. Some

MegaPlier and Mega Millions
I still don't understand why the MM states (besides TX) haven't added this option yet. It confuses me. With the MegaPlier the states get a huge percentage of profits well over the 50% rate they get on most other games. Not only that, jackpots would run longer with that option. When I was in Wisconsin I played 5 tickets each with the PowerPlay option instead of otherwise buying 10 tickets. I could see the states caring about losing those tickets sales but you will make them up with their ext

What lottery game is better?
To me the better of the two games is the one I have to invest the least to play and that is MegaMillions. MegaMillions is played in my State and I can buy tickets locally. I like PowerBall but I have to use a ticket buying service or drive 210 mi.(round trip) to Indiana to buy tickets. If I lived in a PowerBall state, PowerBall would be the better game for me. Since both games changed their matrix and starting jackpots, the price of gas is going to discourage a lot of players from traveling
