NC Lotto Concepts
The Lotto South matrix is high enough now. Period. Lotto South is a regular state Lotto and is not nor should be ratcheted up into the category of Mega Millions or Powerball. There have to be some games with sensible matrices, lower jackpots and payouts that people can enjoy playing and actually win sometimes. Case in point Georgia Fantasy 5 has retained the same 5-39 matrix but has begun giving away a free QP for 2 numbers, then has increased lower tier payouts by calculating the game strictl

$93.4 million Powerball lottery winner is New Mexico's third
For what it's worth:The ABQ Journal says this morning that it's still unknown who holds the winning tickets. It also says, if a person takes the lump sum the check will be for 52.2 million, but the winner will be able to deposit only 36 million and some change after taxes. So, a person wins a 93 plus million dollar jackpot. Takes the lump and ends up with 52 million imaginary dollars, which end up actually being 36 milllion (the almost exact reciprocal of 93).Observation 1: Who is it that's crit

2nd tier MM prize as a progressive
Well the 2nd tier prize would only be progressive while everything else says the same. How those states can afford a $250,000 prize is beyond me anyway. But those small states don't have that many 2nd tier prize winners anyway. Especially now after the new matrix. So their jackpots would roll on an on too. I mean I guess it does suck if two people win it when it is at $400,000. Let just get the megaplier. That's the solution. hahaBrad

Georgia Fantasy 5 changing again
Lottomike, Lotto 5 is a popular game for TN. Since they start est jackpots more and more people have been buying. That's why there has been so many winners here as of late. I really enjoy this game, however, I really like the $500,000 JP's too. I wonder if GA is taking some away from the JP or just increasing the percentage? Sometimes lotto 5 has winners of $300+ for 4/5. The most I've seen for 3/5 is $11. I think TN will give a 2/5 prize in the future because 1 in 100 will catch up to t

Maryland Lottery to replace classic Lotto game
Quote: From Maryland lottery story To win the Lotto jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn from 1 to 49, with jackpots rolling over from one drawing to the next. In its 22 years, Lotto has had 359 jackpot winners; the largest was $24 million in March 2001. Matching fewer numbers on the tickets $1 buys two chances wins smaller prizes ranging from $2 to $1,500.In illinois in about the same time frame they had 1000 millionairs compaired to Marylands 359. Just might be another reason

Texas Lottery paid for goods it never received
I really don't trust computers for some reason. Does anyone remember the movie entitled Colossus: The Forbin Project? The computers took over the nuclear weapons and took over the world.Perhaps that is the reason. I suspect that if the results could be manipulated, someone would attempt to make it happen. Any state that would manipulate the jackpots to encourage sales would not be above rigging numbers to control the results. It is interesting that Texas doesn't pick the Megaplier until afte

N.C. Democrats feel heat on lottery
In North Carolina, legislative leaders trying to break a logjam on the state's budget are pressing reluctant House Democrats to support a much more aggressively advertised lottery than the version that squeaked through the House in April.Several House members have opposed a lottery that would attract ticket buyers through billboard, TV and radio campaigns that promote big-dollar jackpots. They fear such a lottery would prey on people who could least afford to play it.In exchange for supporting a

$1.75 million Hot Lotto ticket purchased in West Virginia
I moved to NH from MA this year. I've started playing NH's games (such as Hot Lotto) even though they don't impress me as much as the Mass. games. Heads or Tails was their version of Mass Cash, but only paid $50k instead of $100k -- Then it got cancelled recently (I wonder why)! I agree about the Hot Lotto jackpots, but I decided that if I won and ended up with about $500k, at least I could buy my dream house with it. Something else that is peculiar about the NH games -- They have 3 game draw
