California could be golden for 12-state Mega Millions
Retailers will have an incentive to put up with the crowds big jackpots create, even if they slow customers buying milk, beer, whiskey or cigarettes. Sellers get a percentage of lottery sales. In California, it's 6 cents for each $1 ticket sold.Californios are going to have to do a bit of planning ahead for this. When the deck of smokes gets down to half a dozen sticks, get in line. When the bottle gets down to three fingers, line up.Buy a standby case of beer for those Tuesday and Friday night

Texas Lottery accused of over-inflating jackpots
The prize totals for the May 24 ($1.04 million) and May 28 ($1.2 million) are incorrect.A check of the Texas lottery website shows the non-jackpot winners received $248,130 on May 24, and $275,828 on May 28.Not sure how the AP reporter came up with the reported totals.Texas Lotto has been in the tank since the new 5/44 + 1/44 matrix was adopted. It's just a matter of time before the game will undergo a major change. But then, the Texas lottery officials are a greedy bunch. They may just sit back

How much do you play per drawing?
I usually play the jackpot amount once it passes 300 million. So 300 tickets for a 300 million pot. Since I don't play unless it's that much I don't have to worry about it. When it hits the 200 level I might spend 5-20 dollars but if I miss the drawing no big loss. I figure it's like a 2 pack a day habit since I don't smoke. I used to spend more on the local Washington and Oregon lotteries but the jackpots have been low lately and since they switched to computerized drawings I don't bother buyin

The Math and The Lottery
If more people used a variety of systems I feel that over the long run they would achieve better results. Because the quick pick computers like to repeat alot of the same numbers over and over that is why it takes longer for a jackpot winner to occur. My theory is that if for tonights Mega Millions Drawing let say 90 % of all players sat down and did some analysis like many here (either with the aid of systems or just their own insight) that there would be a winner before next Fridays drawing

Are Secrets Really Worth Keeping?
I don't think there are any secret systems -- not as far as a system that works for all games, all the time.I think that there are a lot of systems/methods that work for a period of time, then something changes and they go cold....then later they heat up again. What you have to keep doing is changing your method/system to keep up with the way the numbers fall. And there is no method of telling you how to do that or when. You just keep at it, and hope you luck into the right one and are rew

NY Lottery... look in here
I just wanted to get something off my chest. I know NY lottery officials visit LP, and that's cool. This week if we buy $5 of Lotto, we get one free Take Five QP. That promotion is supposed to bring a smile to people's faces. I get more excited from a supermarket coupon. Although that promotion is better than nothing, I find it almost an insult... just like Mega Millions increasing the base jackpot by a paltry $2 million, instead of $5 million. That doesn't sound too MEGA to me.Anyway back to

Mega Millions in CA
California state income tax is 9.3%. They are trying to add a law that if you make over a certain amount ($143K, I think), you have to pay 10% and then 11% if you make over $253K. Though the CA Lottery website says that they will not be charging state tax on MM jackpots (YES!...I live in CA). I for one hope that the jackpot keeps rolling over until CA joins so that I can get a shot at it. Of course, I do not think that there is a guarantee that CA will be joining on June 24th, only that the m

New Florida lottery law increases prizes
Powerball is going to change their Matrix but I forgot when. (I think August 29 or something like that). Anyway, I only play powerball or MM when jackpots are high. As for wheels or QP or whatever I don't wheel. I always pick my numbers randomly. I don't play QP because everytime I do I always end up with some very bad numbers like 1-2-3-9-10 PB 1. LOL atleast I wouldn't have to worry about anyone else winning the JP.

New Pb MM odds of winning
I agree with what you're saying. The problems comes from the fact that the states have come to rely so heavily upon steadily increasing lottery revenue every year. Blame it on the state legislatures. So the lottery directors have to keep coming up with ways to continue increasing profits. The states have found that they make a large proportion of their revenue a couple times a year, when the jackpot in their big multi-state lotto game gets to the point that it gets the people who don't normally

Powerball now has the top JP
You got that right they panicked. Lottery directors were floored when the smaller pots were won and reacted feverishly without taking statistics into consideration. Lottery directors from both games may have made a big mistake in changing the matrix. Because if smaller jackpots are won with the new matrix where do they go from there.Making it harder to win is not my idea of increasing profits. Also the cost of new promotions and supplies for the new matrix are going to eat some of their profit f
