Illinois signs deal to privatize lottery
Watch out for computerized drawings as a way to make extra income (by eliminating overhead of real drawing equipment). That's the biggest problem I can see. If Northstar does the opposite and improves the drawing experience, perhaps by streaming the REAL drawings live on the Internet, and/or making them accessible to the public (like Texas does), then privatizing may be a good thing. But I fear the opposite will happen.

You, your state's lottery director!
Some things I would do: - Improve the payouts for jackpot games - If I happen to be in a state that uses computerized drawings, I would switch back to ball and machine drawings. (I am in Virginia, which does ball and machine drawings). - I would probably run a bunch of promotional advertisements featuring my avatar, the Lottery Otter (if you take L and Y off Lottery, you get Otter, that is why I chose an otter).

South Carolina: 11/1 - 11/30/2008
R N G means computerized drawings. I e-mailed the lottery yesterday inquiring what the switch over was about. I inquired if they were going to r n g drawings. They did not give a direct answer on it but refered me to the news release in their website.

Maryland Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize anonymously
I don't play QP usually I use algorithms. I don't play 10 tickets on a jackpot under 100M. Sometimes my prg. gives out weird numbers like that and I play them because the prg. is not prejudiced about numeric distributions on ball-drawings as opposed to computerized drawings like Hot Lotto. The thing is, weird sets DO come out, and they come out less often because they are of a smaller group of combinations such as 22 and higher for the sheer reason that excluding the first 21 balls greatly reduc

Tennessee Lottery computerized drawings under suspicion again
Lottery draws same numbers 3 days in a row; same thing happened last month When will the Tenn. Lottery dump the computer draws? Seven was a lucky number for Tennessee lottery players last week. A very, very, very lucky number. For three consecutive days, the winning ticket in the Cash 3 drawing was some combination of two sevens and a zero. Thursday, the winning Cash 3 number at midday was 0-7-7. Friday, the winning midday number was 7-0-7. And Saturday evening, the winning number was a

If I Could Save Time In A Bottle...
I spend time on my program but it also develops programming and logic skills. There are so many ways to analyze past drawings and patterns and you have to keep changing your strategy. i.e. one of my systems does very well in December-Janu.-Feb. but lousy in the Summer and something that did OK last year might not this year. I'd rather have one decent profit-making system and only use that and not have to think about it so much, or I'd rather have enough $ that I don't need to even play (but woul

POLL: Breaking the code
I have some extreme algorithms, one of them uses 7 dimensions and takes several minutes to generate one pick.. backtesting such a thing is very difficult... as computers become faster it could be done that way, but ironically may turn out that computerized drawings are easier to crack than ball drawings where human factors are more? involved. The only thing that happens on Dec. 21, 2012 is riots in parking lots as people fight over a limited supply of PlayStation 8's or the new Telepathic

Georgia Lottery launches talent search
This story has been up top for the longest time....if they don't find someone soon then I suggest have a cyborg as the host or go to <cringe> computerized drawings. In nj the midday drawings just have a disembodied voice announcing the numbers as they are automatically drawn by the ball machines. I prefer that situation over a human hitting the buttons or computerization. Also the person probably couldn't play Georgia lottery but what about in other States, or what about Mega Millions w

Official wants fraud probe of Tennessee Lottery
That's a GREAT POINT! Why would she even entertain the idea of rigging the drawings is computerized drawings were so secure ? I would say if someone WAS rigging the drawing that they succeeded nicely. I wonder if that person would made the keypunch error played any Pick 3 or Pick 4 numbers during that stretch -- or maybe someone they know did?
